There's some self balancing going on as well. A "spotlight hog" will run out of resources pretty quick and naturally draw the bulk of the opposition's ire.
I haven't read it but Krypto shows up in the comic book run of "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" which the new Supergirl movie is based on. Guess Gunn thinks it'll be easier to have Krypto attached to Kara.
I really enjoyed the movie. Cast is great and everyone just seems to be having fun in their roles. These are definitely my favourite portrayals of Superman, Lois and Lex.
What impresses me is that Gunn captures the Silver Age by dancing close to the line of cringe but somehow never stepping...
I like the armour and Thresholds. I know this is an area of complaint, but to me, it feels like the armour thresholds are blocking a goodly amount of damage. Some of it is getting through, which will be marked as hp or armour. Nobody has a lot of hp, so you feel that the armour is actually...
I love how the players, as they get used to their abilities and the options, are really cooperating and doing cool moves in combat. The lack of initiative is great. Everyone is engaged and combat stays exciting.
I've been both running and playing a fair amount of DH. Our table loves it. We are having a blast with the game. It's becoming addictive. None of us are Critters, btw. 😂
It's interesting reading different reactions to the game. Of course gamers have different preferences, but DH seems to...
Matt has been pushing them hard. They got lucky on the risk it all rolls. I'm no longer watching but from internet chatter, I believe this has changed.
I love DH but not a fan of game streaming.
It takes a little practice to get the flow moving but it's worth it. If you have a pile of fear but players are struggling and combat is tense, don't spend it. It really doesn't matter if GM has a fear pile. Once the players start swinging to the top, you've got fear to power abilities and grab...
Don't knock Grandmas. This grandma has been playing rpgs since 1981 and is well versed in innumerable systems, including RuneQuest lore. Could teach those store people a thing or two. Young whippersnappers!😉
I'd probably go with Mausritter or Brindlewood Bay. Mausritter is super easy to make up fun scenarios on the fly and who doesn't want to be a cute, heroic mouse? It'd also be quick to throw some clues together for Brindlewood Bay. Who doesn't want to be an old lady solving mysteries? Heck, I'm...
I feel like my Guardian PC is taking the hits in a way that feels right. At the end of a hard combat, she's battered, tired, has taken a hell of a lot of damage but still standing, if barely. And as you say, without just upping hp.
I agree with @Ruin Explorer. Checking for hope/fear is too fast to count as a step. Checking for threshold levels was a little slow when we first played, but is now almost as fast as hope/fear.
Adding 2d12 + modifier is slower than d20 + modifier. It's definitely faster to just mark armour...
