D&D 3.x 3rd Edition Revisited - Better play with the power of hindsight?

Yeah, that would be pretty awesome. It would be nice having to look forward to a major decision point.

WotC Andy Collins returns to WotC

When putting out such a rude statement, perhaps qualify it.

A few things I really like about WFRP

Guys! Thanks for all that info. It is extremely interesting reading about your experiences. Thanks! I think I will give it a try when our current campaign wraps up.

A few things I really like about WFRP

I also now that the Advantages-rules got a big improvement in Arms of Fire. And also that the magic book (Winds of Magic?) improved spells/magic. So I get a feeling they are kind of needed? And also - how action-packed are the Ubersreik adventures? My 5e group like a ration of 30% non-action and...

A few things I really like about WFRP

How is it compared to 5e? I would like to try it, but I'm afraid my players wouldn't like it that much, since they adore the high octane D&D combats, and crazy ass player high-magic abilities.

ToV Tales of the Valiant is out! What do people think?

Don't get me wrong. I really like Kobold Press. Especially their monster books are amazing. But I have a hard time seeing why one would choose ToV over 5r - unless it's an active choice away from WotC. I think C7 has been wise by taking a more long-sighted approach.

D&D 5E (2014) MCDMs Flee Mortals now on DnDBeyond

Yeah they haven't really talked a lot about it. Kind of weird.

D&D 3.x Anyone still publishing or sharing new 3.5 adventtures?

Go to DM's guild and filter for Adventures in 3.5. There are many. Also as mentioned above, there is a shitton of PF1 APs you can use quite easily. The first three (or four?) APs are actually for 3.5 (before they moved to their PF1), and you can buy the 3.5 version PDFs on Paizo's site. Also...

D&D 5E (2014) MCDMs Flee Mortals now on DnDBeyond

Since they'll also support Roll20, FG, and Foundry I can't see how this is the case.

    D&D 5E (2024) New D&D Edition's Player’s Handbook Cover Reveal

Yeah, Reynolds has gone too far with this. Some of these buckles are the size of a house. But it does give PF2 it's own style, although I personally don't like it.

    D&D 5E (2024) New D&D Edition's Player’s Handbook Cover Reveal

Man I like these covers. Feels like the embodiment of a D&D session.

    D&D 5E (2024) Adopting 2024's 5e - What's the First Adventure You Want to Play?

Either Strahd plus the Vecna one. Or Age of Worms. I have always wanted to play AoW but not sure whether I’ll crash and burn on converting it. 🤷‍♂️

D&D 3.x So how was AEG's Warlords of the Accordlands anyway?

Wow - this is a coincidence. Yesterday I was reading an old Dragon magazine and noticed an ad for Warlords of the Accordlands. Seems interesting. But I already have more campaign than I can run.

D&D General The 13th Age 2nd Edition Kickstarter Has Launched

Exactly our experience with PF2. It seems they retained the tactical game play and balance of 4th edition but removed all the enjoyable elements. Similarly, they incorporated numerous options from 3.5 but stripped away the fun parts. PF2 offers so many choices that ultimately don’t seem to...

D&D 5E (2014) What Are Your Favorite Short Adventures and Collections for 5e?

I have played the hell out of Yawning Portal. A pure gem in my - and my player's eyes! Also if I needed something quick on hand Kobold Press' Lairs books are amazing.

D&D 5E (2014) Free 'Descent into the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth' Adventure on D&D Beyond

That’s how it’s always been pretty much since 3e. Also how PF does it in their APs: Xxxx Monster (Pathfinder Bestiary 2 page 192) for example. I think Paizo used to have a rule that AP authors should only use monsters from two bestiaries so they aren’t spread over like six bestiaries. Also as...

Pathfinder 1E Are there compelling reasons to upgrade to PF1 from 3.0?

I will have to say that while Pathfinder 1 streamlined many things (skills, grapple, reigned in some polymorph/summon spells, etc.), they made the class design a bit more complex IMO. Many classes are full or stuff you need to track, and does feel a bit fiddly. Now that can be both a pro and con...
