(IC) Against the Giants PBP Group 1

Valda awoke with a start, for a moment wondering if she had died, but the pain of the having a chunk of her shoulder torn out, along with the rock-like creature thrashing and whipping it's tendrils around. Valda knew she wasn't fast enough to get out of range of those things. The only chance...

D&D 5E (2024) With Weapon Mastery likely making it in, do you want optional exotic weapons and exotic weapon masteries?

Having a Boomerang weapon sounds cool. But I really wouldn't want to complicate stuff with Exotic Weapon Prof feats or whatever.

D&D 5E (2024) We have Arcane, Divine, and Primal lists now. Why not Psionic?

So, my two cents, but first I will note a disclaimer that I am not exactly a Psionics fan. so right off the bat we can acknowledge a bit of bias on my part. I see two issues with a Psionic list. 1) If there is not anyone using it, it does take up valuable page space. While there is an argument...

Valda realizes she is not in what one would call a great situation. Nevertheless, she swings as best she can at the thing, determined to make sure that eating her is as arduous as process as possible, although she doesn't think it's very effective. Am currently restrained, so I cannot use the...

Against the Giants 5e PBP (Full)

Valda has grappled some giants in our adventures. Not sure if that counts as wrestling a giant.

Caught off guard, the tendrils had dragged Valda down the passage, and although she wrested with the grasping bindings, she was unable to free herself. Sorry about the delay. Things are really busy and it must have slipped my mind. Valda attempts to escape the grapple, getting advanatge from...

    D&D 5E (2024) Playtest 6: Rogue and Cunning Strike

Liking the changes. Rogue in the first playtest was kinda meh overall, but the Cunning Strike stuff is solid, and Reliable Talent coming earlier is nice as well.

"Save it. I've got one I can use." Valda nods in appreciation to Bible however before fishing out her own vial and downing it. Back up to 35 hit points. Potion of Greater Healing: 4D4+4 = [1, 4, 2, 1]+4 = 12

D&D 5E (2024) Do you see Fighter players at your own table?

I DMed a Storm King's Thunder game where one the players played a Fighter (Cavalier) into the teens. Was a good tank with Sentinel and the subclass abilities from what I remember. The only other fighter I've seen played that high probably doesn't qualify since they went Rune Knight as the...

~I'm not sure how much longer I can keep fighting.~ Valda admitted over the mindlink. She didn't like to admit it, but in the last fight against the stone giants she had gotten hit hard. She could feel pain lancing down her side as she breathed.

Pain lanced through her from the giant's club, but she gritted her teeth and struck back with two swings of her longsword. while her first strike managed to land, the pain hindered the second as it failed to find an opening. +1 Longsword Attack Rolls: 1D20+9 = [8]+9 = 17 1D20+9 = [1]+9 = 10...

(IC) Against the Giants PBP Group 1

Although uninjured from being knocked on her ass by the giant, she found it embarrassing and seethed silently as she scrambled to her feet. She stalks back towards the giant with murder on her mind. I'm not sure if I can reach back to the giant in one move and attack. If not, I'll dodge. +1...

(IC) Against the Giants PBP Group 1

Valda, seeing the other giant start to wake, calls upon her runic magic to grow in size, enlarging as she brought her sword down at the stone giant once, and then twice. +1 Longsword Attack Rolls: 1D20+9 = [14]+9 = 23 1D20+9 = [16]+9 = 25 +1 Longsword Damage with Giants Might: 1D8+7+1D6 =...

(IC) Against the Giants PBP Group 1

After the final Orog fell and weapons were stowed away, Valda took a moment to down a vial of reddish liquid from her belt, the effects of the potion numbing the soreness and pain of previous battles. Following the group down the corridor, she indicated silently to Jack that she was going to...

D&D 5E (2014) Martials should just get free feats

Eldritch Blast is basically a Warlock "Exclusive" ability but two levels of Warlock and you're about as good as someone who went all the way in Warlock. Hence making it prime dipping material for Sorcerers, Bards and even Paladins who want a solid ranged ability.

D&D 5E (2014) Martials should just get free feats

I did acknowledge that as of Tashas the Fighter does have some unique options for fighting style. I also think it's a huge edge case to say that the fighter is great because they can have a heavy armor proficiency and the Archery fighting style though. Also, the other issue is that these unique...

D&D 5E (2014) Martials should just get free feats

Yah, I was going to say that Heavy Armor Prof isn't a unique ability if the Paladin also gets it. A quibble perhaps, since even ECMO3 acknowledges it. Likewise, Fighting Styles are not unique either, although I do suppose their are some unique options for the Fighter at this point. Action Surge...

D&D 5E (2014) Martials should just get free feats

I don't think adding spells to the fighter will make anyone happy. Even those who want to give the fighter stuff haven't really been suggesting that, at least as far as I've seen. And there are plenty of people who will say they like the fighter without supernatural powers. Right now, the...

(IC) Against the Giants PBP Group 1

Valda slips down left most corridor, moving quickly to make sure the passageway is clear. Valda dashes as well, I think I can get to DN-82, but in case I miscalculated, going as far down that passageway as I can.

D&D 5E (2014) Martials should just get free feats

AD&D wasn't super concerned with balance from my experience playing it, what little I did. Wizards started off weak but had the most potential power. Fighters were pretty solid throughout, mostly because of the damage they could do and the lack of hit point inflation. Clerics were necessary...
