Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I actually went back home and did this because I started feeling nervous.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

No. I just left the taps running. I consulted a plumber friend and he said that would be sufficient.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

🥶 We’re in the midst of one of the coldest streaks on record for our area (16 days in a row where the high temp is below freezing-the record is 33 days) and we woke up this morning to a broken furnace that needs a part that can’t be procured until Monday at the earliest. So here we are, the...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Ours cost $7000 and that was with a friends and family discount, the best deal after getting multiple quotes from different plumbers. I should have been a plumber. Instead I have a useless PhD.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I was thinking this as I was watching Stranger Things and as someone who was exactly the same age as those kids in those years, there is A LOT less smoking than I remember both by adults and teens. I understand not wanting to "promote" smoking - but I also think it is possible to show some...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

In life, as in games, even the most well-intentioned policy can have unintended consequences.

What are you watching in (late 2025 and) 2026?

I liked it quite a bit in parts (though not as cynical and a departure from the source film - more of an echo than a remake) and I appreciated how at the end the made sure to complete everyone’s “cycles” but. . .

What are you watching in (late 2025 and) 2026?

My wife and I tend to recreate something like broadcast tv in our watching methods - watching one episode of a different hour-long show ever night and sometimes supplementing it with a 30 minute comedy if we have time/energy. So right now we have the following on rotation (or have recently...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I once played Paranoia at a con in a 3-hour slot. Everyone had died within the first 25 minutes - all 6 clones for each player! We just took a 10 minute break and started over! Great fun tho

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I found TOON to be like Paranoia, fun but not great for playing more than a one-shot at a time.

D&D General Dungeons of Drakkenheim Experiences?

I think @Ancalagon also frequently sings its praises.

The oldest tech you still use

My 2006 Honda Civic had 230,000 miles on it in 2021 when I finally got rid of it. The engine was in great shape and would have run for another 100k, I think. But it would have fallen out of the rusted bottom of the car before then. 😂

The oldest tech you still use

This thread has taught me that old speakers (and many old receivers/amplifiers) last forever (or so my Yamaha speakers and Onkyo receiver confirm).

Do you go in RAW 100%?

I play it however the person who taught it to me says it works.

D&D General The "Ease of Long Rests" as a metric for describing campaigns / DM styles?

I find this fascinating and funny because I totally disagree with @tetrasodium’s perspective but also do not look at my D&D games as “a story” like @Scott Christian.

D&D General The "Ease of Long Rests" as a metric for describing campaigns / DM styles?

Ah. I get you. I basically run my games that way too (I never think about how many combat or other types of encounters the party has in an adventuring day outside of what makes sense for the environment and the situation). And while I was aware that 5MWD did not literally mean "5 minutes," I...

    D&D 5E (2024) Bonus Action Conversion

I have allowed it as long as it doesn’t break other rules (like limits on spellcasting per turn) and it has never been a problem. 🤷🏽‍♂️ Definitely not worth a feat.

D&D General The "Ease of Long Rests" as a metric for describing campaigns / DM styles?

I am always confused when people talk about the 5MWD in 5e since you can only have one long rest per 24 hours. I am sure finding a place to rest or having to wait a whole day before starting a long rest to even be possible can be achieved in occasional adventuring environments (given time...
