D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

I'm not saying it wasn't loved...nor that it was. I'm saying we don't have enough information to know what the choices were except... That there WERE complaints. They actually changed the numbers during the playtest. However, the changes were actually not that major and really didn't change...

Dragonlance [Dragonlance Homebrew] Alternate Timeline: Magocracy of Ansalon

It looks like you've put a lot of thought into this. Maybe you should compile it into a google docs or something.

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

Was it though? According to whom? Who gave out that information? What is it's source? If I made an Apple Pie and said everyone loved it...that's what everyone said. Does that mean everyone loved it? On BA... There were some complaints about it...but they were minimized. They actually had...

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

The problem is bounded accuracy. What do I mean by that? I mean they wanted to have bounded accuracy. They demanded it. In some form or another, the designers were bound and determined that this was what they were going to have. It didn't matter what anyone else said, or what real feedback...

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

Last time they tried to kill a few Sacred Cows (4e) it created such a great outcry which probably makes them want to shy away from trying anything similar to it, or even remotely resembling that attempt ever again.

What do you love about The Wheel of Time?

If I were to suggest reading the books to someone today I would suggest reading books 1 - 7 (maybe include book 8 if you like getting a tad bored) and then skipping to book 11 and reading the rest of the series. Not enough happens in between that which you can't get caught up in through book...

Finally saw Tenet (and Nolan films ranked)

Original thread started in 2021. That's the year most of the movies were ranked by those who participated in this thread. Oppenheimer was released July 21, 2023, almost 2 years (but not quite) after this thread was started. It was ressurected October 12, 2025...almost 2 years after that and...

Judge decides case based on AI-hallucinated case law

Yes. I do not like the practice, but it is very widespread. Professors commonly have their students use a book that the Professor wrote and published. Basically, bumping up the Professors income. This is why some professors love to teach large undergraduate classes vs. graduate, because when...

    Marvel's VisonQuest coming 2026

I don't think they ever to to be a happy family ever after in the comic books though.

King Kubrick: Ranking Stanley's Best Films

It's been over 45 years...do we really need to worry about spoilers at this point?

Finally saw Tenet (and Nolan films ranked)

Depends on your point of view. Christopher Nolan, despite not advertising his religious beliefs, was raised Christian and incorporates a lot of Christian ideas into his films. I'm not going to delve to deeply into religious or political ideas on this board, but in order to understand some of...

Trailer Marvel Television’s Wonder Man | Official Trailer

I'm not sure. It may be a completely meta series, or it could be an origin story. It's not clear to me in the commercial.

Finally saw Tenet (and Nolan films ranked)

Interstellar may be one of Nolan's most notable films...IMO...not due to the scientific rigor, but due to the relevance it has to our day and present situation. He never states why, but in a world where we face challenges that could end our way of life as we know it from several different...

So what's the deal with solo gaming?

Lone Wolf Lone Wolf Lone Wolf Okay, if you don't want to go that route with the gamebooks... Fighting Fantasy... Or if you want to do a form that is on computer, but really is an open world gamebooks series... Fabled Lands They even have a Demo that you can try if you want to see if it is...

WotC Wizards hiring D&D Creative Brand Manager

Depends on what you are looking for in the job. If you are wanting in the industry and don't really have a foot in it, this is a great way to get a dream job working in the industry while making new connections that you could network later if the worst happens and enabling you with more...

    NUREMBERG Official Trailer (2025)

This will be a tough film to discuss openly and frankly here on these forums. Due to certain things happening in the world and how one could see their direct relation to some of the things this film discusses, the political aspects seem like they would preclude certain areas of talk which would...

    Trailer MERCY Trailer (2025)

I liked Tron Ares. It was actually pretty good. This was one of the trailers prior to the movie. This one looks a little like Minority Report to a degree. I'm not sure I like the premise (you have 90 minutes to prove your innocence. Even with all the cameras and other stuff...that just...

Trailer Tron: Ares | Flynn Lives

Well, I saw it. I'll try to avoid a spoiler filled review. Wish me luck. I liked it. I went with 4 others, so I can actually grant it so many stars out of 5 stars...one star for each person that liked it. It gets 4 stars. I thought it started a little disjointed and was wondering where it...
