D&D General Edition Experience - Updated Survey Results (Updated October 2025)

Unless it's Pathfinder 2e, but then it seems, even with how very similar some ideas are between 4e and PF2e, the PF2e fans want to disavow any connection PF2e has to 4e. But I see a lot of Praises for PF2e on items which were basically done the same way in 4e.

    AD&D 2E Edition Experience - Did/Do you Play AD&D 2E? How Was/Is It?

Now that it's being discussed again... Yes... We old ones lie in sleep Far beneath in ancient deeps But say the words and we arise To the world's dismay and cries.

    AD&D 2E Edition Experience - Did/Do you Play AD&D 2E? How Was/Is It?

No more than if you group items together on what a bonus could or could not stack... For example I could say Rings and Amulets and Capes do not stack with their bonuses, But certain Rings and Swords and Shields do, But Swords and Maces and Gloves do not, But Tiara's and natural body armor...

    AD&D 2E Edition Experience - Did/Do you Play AD&D 2E? How Was/Is It?

I find it humorous all those fan bois who praise rising BAB in 3e but find THAC0 difficult or hard. 3.X math with everything tossed in was harder at times in a few instances then one could even dream of with THAC0. All the small little modifiers, exceptions (oh...you can't have that bonus from...

What video/computer game could (or has) replaced TTRPGs for your group. +

if it were a group all playing the game together it would depend on which group of People I was playing with. I introduce different people to D&D and RPGs, so it depends on who it is. Forza Motorsport would work with some, but I don't think that would be a popular choice for those on these...

Starbreeze Cancels Co-Op D&D Video Game

I played the Veilgard. I'm not quite certain why people dislike it so much or why they bang on Bioware so much on it. Perhaps I'm just not the key audience? I love Dragon Age Origins. I really enjoyed Dragon Age 2 (despite it's maps repeating constantly and other shortcuts they took, the...

    D&D 5E (2024) What should the 15th Class be?

A Real Assassin, not the archtype they have, but an actual Assassin Class. Or, perhaps...a Cavalier Class. Just as valid as the Warlord Class. They are prior full classes (as opposed to prestige) from Hardcover D&D books that are no longer classes now. Though, I suppose in theory they...

XKCD: Could we survive eating only humans?

Eating one a month assumes that they ONLY eat people. In most apocalyptic movies there is still canned food and other things that are still around. They may also not eat as much as we do now in order to eat just enough to stay active, but not so much as to be obese or go through their food...

    AD&D 2E Dragon Magazine #189

I only really used the oriental Adventures kits and the Completing the Complete Bard (Dandy and Outlaw), never really used the other stuff in the magazine. It has some pretty cool ideas, but there was a lot of stuff in Dragon Magazine and most of it we never utilitzed. It's a miracle we used...

D&D General How Much D&D Stuff Is There Anyway? Part 3: Magazines

Some may hate this, but I used some of the kits and classes extensively. I think I absolutely loved the Alternate Bard classes (and so did the guys who made the BG games I think). The Gallant and the Blade I think were found within. Also, one other class which allowed you to switch up the...

AD&D 1E Snarf's Challenge: Was it Possible to Play 1e RAW? SHARE YOUR STORIES!

So.... How do I phrase this... If we ever played with Gary Gygax...since he's the one who wrote the rules...would that qualify as playing it RAW? (Note...though...his view of RAW may not exactly adjoin with how the books may be read RAW)... Of interest...The 5th paragraph page 8 of the PHB...

D&D General How Much D&D Stuff Is There Anyway? Part 3: Magazines

I only really have collections of the Strategic Review/Dragon and Dungeon (including the Dungeon/Polygon issues). Never really got into the others I suppose. Novels are what I'm really interested in. Those are books that I really got into. One item I'd really be interested in if it is...

Other D&D Variant What is your favorite version of D&D offshoot/D20 fantasy today? Tell us why it is the best!

Castles & Crusades - It really is the easiest to convert to any D&D version besides 4e. It's extremely easy to convert 3.X adventure to C&C due to how they are based, but at the same time 5e uses a similar math in relation to skill use and most of the classes combat hitting power (with the...

D&D General Weapons should break left and right

Xiangqi. Depends on what you define as a Bishop. Technically both Shogi and Xiangqi have bishops.

D&D General Weapons should break left and right

That actually reminds me of a great point though. If the OP or others want a game version which forces people to use different weapons (rather than just relying on one favored weapon or so), play 3.5 edition. Different monsters had different immunities and so you'd have to carry different...

D&D General How Much D&D Stuff Is There Anyway? Part 2: Settings

What about Ghostwalk. I think there was only one volume ever published. 224 pages. Edit: Ah, beaten on the mention by @Echohawk I'd be going based off things officially in print. I wouldn't include those that only came out in PDF or digital form (at least currently, today. The future may...

D&D General Weapons should break left and right

That's a very strange wording you have for Doom...or the Doom series of games. I don't recall the weapons breaking all the time in Doom though you can run out of ammo... Or maybe you meant Counter-Strike or Half-Life...same principle as Doom though with weapons and ammo.
