AD&D 2E Dragon Magazine #189

It is one of my favorites and was the one that got me hooked into 2e dnd back in the day, but I'm curious if it holds the test of time.

it is responsible for my failed attempt of writting rifts africa 2, but also a few kara-tur stuff, indian rpg weapons and armor.

However, I'm guessing it is problematic in todays era.

Your thoughts?

I only really used the oriental Adventures kits and the Completing the Complete Bard (Dandy and Outlaw), never really used the other stuff in the magazine.

It has some pretty cool ideas, but there was a lot of stuff in Dragon Magazine and most of it we never utilitzed. It's a miracle we used as much as we did from this one (which was basically one player using it at some point for one of their kits).

The one that I used the most (out of Dragon) was the issue (can't recall of the top of my head which one) which reorganized the spell lists/circles/schools. Made a lot of photocopies for that one as we ended up preferring those lists to the ones in the PHB for years...if I recall. I think that one came out somewhere close to #189 as well.

Why Thank You! Justin on Books, Bricks & Boards just commented on that article about the Oriental Adventure kits I wrote WWAAAYYY back in 1992.....it is fun to hear my old stuff talked about after so long! :)

when it comes to 'articles we used the most', I have to look way back in the earlier days, when EGG was publishing the deities of Greyhawk... before the folio set, there wasn't anything official, so we just picked random gods out of the Deities book (including some of the gnarly Cthulhu ones that got excised later). Once the official ones came along in Dragon, we used them....
