D&D 5E (2014) 5th edition Monster Manual: I think the really nice art detracts from the mediocre functionality of the book.

2 things about this. One as many people have already pointed out, there is already a CR list online, so if you really want it, it's there. Secondly, I have found myself needing a CR less and less over the course of designing adventures for my players. CR is and has always been a guideline, but...

    D&D 5E (2014) Amulet of Natural Armor

Uh I don't see anything wrong with that. It doesn't say that your armor can't be more, it says it can't be less. Shields don't effect the armor bonus, therefore, its allowed to stack.

    D&D 5E (2014) Ariadna, the allmighty druid

No that's totally correct. However, once that trout is attacked, it reverts back to the giant, as thee damage kills the trout and forces it to revert back to a giant. its like what my dad always said when I wanted to pick a fight with him at 7 years old: you've got one free shot, better make it...

    D&D 5E (2014) Amulet of Natural Armor

I did it a little differently. All of my characters had just gotten amulets from a king for saving his valley, and they were all +1 AC. Instead for this edition though, I changed them to amulets of resistance, all of them of a different type. I like your idea, but it seems that most people that...

D&D 5E (2014) Favorite thing from the Monster Manual so far?

Release the Kraken!!!! But seriously, I am loving so much in this book, but the Kraken has to be my favorite. Kickass regional effects, awesome lair actions, great history and an awesome picture. Man this thing is.... Cannot get enough of it.

D&D 5E (2014) Bounded Accuracy: does it deliver as promised?

Why do you keep bothering to respond if you aren't going to actually post anything of merit?

    D&D 5E (2014) Amazon or Local?

Good questions to ask. It wouldn't be much of a burden to buy the book, $20 is well within my budget. And I agreee with the other poster. The amount of bookstores in my area has declined drastically. I think I will go ahead and support them.

    D&D 5E (2014) Amazon or Local?

Yeah the stores that do carry it I lean towards liking, but the store that I love doesn't carry it. So still up in the air for me.

    D&D 5E (2014) Amazon or Local?

At I have a bit of a dilemma that I hope you guys can help me out with. I've already ordered the monster manual from Amazon, but have recently found out that my local game store has it early as a WPN store. So my question is, is it worth paying the extra $20 just to support them? Or should I...

D&D 5E (2014) Bounded Accuracy: does it deliver as promised?

They already do scaling, but it's with damage and hit points rather than AC, which I love. Now, everyone hits quite often (or at least more often than in other editions) but the damage you deal defines how effective you are.

D&D 5E (2014) What the Monster Manual is missing

Pretty sure that's what it is.

D&D 5E (2014) What the Monster Manual is missing

Makes sense to me. Seems like they're really making the DMs guide just that, a DMs guide. So you can make adventures and encounters with just guide!

D&D 5E (2014) Bounded Accuracy: does it deliver as promised?

I can see that. One round of super awesome AC is fine with me, especially because they're trading off having a good AC for being more effective in combat. A monster attacking someone it can't hit would quickly switch targets anyway. And when haste runs out? You can be sure they'll be hammered...

D&D 5E (2014) Bounded Accuracy: does it deliver as promised?

Thats assuming a couple things. For one, that the Paladin wouldn't havenother items that he wanted to be attuned to. Secondly, that the other items he has give him a better AC. And honestly even with a killer AC, at the level they would get that at, they should have a few really sick items...

D&D 5E (2014) Bounded Accuracy: does it deliver as promised?

I would think that would be fine as long as there are only a couple such items in each campaign. I would rather have a sweet magic item that slightly breaks the economy than magic items that don't mean anything (4e).

D&D 5E (2014) Bounded Accuracy: does it deliver as promised?

I call hogwash on all of this. Give us specific examples and the math because this seems impossible.

D&D 5E (2014) Access to Ability Boosting Items in your game

I think the point is that it ends up with a character that wouldn't normally have that item. Making it a 19 was a brilliant choice, as it is still +1 lower than anything any of the people who are going for those attributes will have, while still being likely much better than that PC would ever...

D&D 5E (2014) Access to Ability Boosting Items in your game

Definitely a combination of 2 and 3, but I would add a caveat to that. If someone deliberately tried to make a character based on the assumption that they would get one of these items at some point, I wouldn't necessarily punish them for it, but I would heavily point out that it's a bad idea. 5e...

D&D 5E (2014) Where is the point of medicine as a skill?

Perhaps there's no one that's arrived yet that can cast restoration? Maybe the cleric isn't working in the King's favor? Regardless, one refutation of one point in a group does not refute the whole. There were many other scenarios that I gave. Nature is a knowledge check so I'm not sure how it...
