What if the solo RPG were only half-writing? Say, the maps, monsters, treasure, and some events are prepared, but you get to fill in the blanks, like combat outcomes and/or NPC interactions?

Volume, for starters. Games and theaters are super-loud, which probably triggers some hormone for excitement. Plus, there's the whole idea of humans worshiping big things, and the big screen probably plays into that a bit. Okay, I can see why. But I'm still spending my paper route money on...

Oh contraire! In D&D, missing is a breath of fresh air. It's a moment when there's no decision paralysis, there are no extra dice to roll, no "however" rules to look up. No one asks, "can I miss right now?" It just happens, and life is good. Imma start calling "attack rolls" "miss checks"...

I give it two half-elven-thumbs up, for anyone who hasn't seen it. But given that lots of people have home theaters and the $2 you'd need to buy it from Goodwill, I don't see why anyone would see it in the cinema.

Shooting from the hip here ;) but mounted archery depends on lightly armored, close-quarters-battle (CQB) foes. Like deer or footmen. Mounted archers aren't taking the type of shots that are going to penetrate armor; their focus is just getting an arrowhead in to start bleeding and break...
