What videogames are you playing in 2026?

I’m well into Hades 2 but it really feels like bigger is not better in this case. The second main boss is just a completely aggravating fight and the storyline involving him feels weak to me. I’m finding myself skipping a whole lot of dialogue in this one. Probably going to turn on God Mode and just burn thru it to call it done. 🫤

Just beat "Dispatch" and thoroughly enjoyed it! It was a fun game to just sit back and enjoy after beating Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Now I'm going back and beating GTA 3 and that game gives me all the nostalgia of when it came out during my first year of college.

I've mastered the Journey of the Prairie King arcade shooter in Stardew Valley, but I've never been any good at Junimo Kart.
I am not sure I even realized that "Junimo Kart" was a thing. And I think I was only as good at Journey of the Prairie King as was required to feel satisfying with Abigail's story.

I have tried all the minigames in Fallout 4, but do not think I ever went all in on Grognak.

But in any case I came to this thread to mention that even while I am still playing Warhammer III - I think I am about ready to get back into Terraria. They finally released the game "ending" 1.4.5 update in the last few weeks, and while I did not play much after the last big update I am going to see how it goes this time. Once upon a time I had 100% that game, but they added a bunch more achievements. Time to see if I have the wherewithal to get them all.

I have a hard time getting into games like Terraria at this point, because I have seen what my 1st and 3rd grade daughters do and I don't think I can compete.

That reminds me of seeing a fairly recent Felicia Day clip where she explains her 8-9 year old daughter had already relegated her to being her "gaming sidekick" .

It's funny because GTA 3 is one of the first games I can remember being unfairly annoyed by, because I didn't think it lived up to what I expected from essentially GTA 1 going to full 3D. I thought compared to GTA 1 (let's not talk about GTA 2), it was a bit soul-less and we'd now say has a weak "vibe" (also funny because "vibe" was an outdated older-generation term back then but has now returned to usage!).

I loved Vice City and San Andreas though, they felt like they totally fixed any lack of vibes and then some!

Looking forward to GTA 6 whenever that comes out, but wow it's a little insane that GTA 3 came out a quarter-century ago and 6 still isn't out!

I definitely think any game with elaborate crafting and building would be just a whole other level of appeal/obsession when you're a kid. The sheer amount of time I could spend on elaborate Lego builds at that age was crazy, and I can only imagine how obsessed with stuff like Minecraft or Terraria I'd have been. I feel like, as an adult, I'd be a lot more efficient and precise and think stuff through but would I build anything as crazy impressive? Almost certainly not!

Very excited for GTA 6 this fall.

It's been a very fun return to GTA 3. It's crazy how my brain doesn't remember what my co-worker told me yesterday but how I can remember where everything is on the map from a game that I devoured 25 years ago

My experiences with GTA in general (and tbf, most of that experience is with Vice City) is that it's fun as hell tooling around town listening to the most absurdly hilarious talk radio but that literally every other part of the experience is an exercise in misery.

It's a big part of the reason why I've never even bothered with the Yakuza series despite the few bits and pieces of it that I've actually seen being incredibly charming
