Daggerheart Sold Out in Two Weeks, Has Three-Year Plan in Place

Because the reddit post was easier to find with google, and I am linking to some additional discussion which happened in the post. @Zehnseiter Well the thing is: We have no sales numbers. At least not from the linked article. All we know is "it sold out". A thing which funny happens often...

Daggerheart Sold Out in Two Weeks, Has Three-Year Plan in Place

4e Did not only sell on amazon though. Looking at 1 limited fataset leads exactly to this falls claims like "pathfinder outsold D&D". 4e did sell out as well and also needed several printings: D&D 4th edition was even sold at target and most likely similar shops. Also it was sold digitally...

Daggerheart Sold Out in Two Weeks, Has Three-Year Plan in Place

And that was exsctly the kind of marketing I mesn "Mike mearls is saying" without actual numbers. In the mesntime we did get rough actual numbers of the sales of D&D over the years (which are linked in the post I linked). 2014 and 2015 had roughly the same revenue (29 vs 25) as 3.5 had st the...

    D&D 4E Introducing Orcus -- a 4E retroclone

Thats great news! Thank you for doing the work! I think this will be a lot more useful for doing "Orcus content" because I wanted to port some of my "revised 4e classes" to Orcus and a better license definitly is something which does help.

Daggerheart Sold Out in Two Weeks, Has Three-Year Plan in Place

Sorry but "very strong" may be nebulous, but "worse than any other D&D initial release" is not nebulous. Thsts just a fact. Or "in the year of the 5e release D&D only made 2 times as much money as in the year with no new book releases." You are right "very strong" means nothing, thats why I...

Daggerheart Sold Out in Two Weeks, Has Three-Year Plan in Place

No it did not. I did provide a link where this is explained. Why repeat this wrong informarion when we know today that this is nor true? D&D only made 29 million in the first and second year of 5e release. Which is WAY weaker than 4e, 3e and 3.5E. Again this is just people falling for...

It's Time to VOTE for your MOST ANTICIPATED TTRPG of 2026!

Oh yeah sorry missed thst. Than I am just really surprised that no one nominated it given how big the kickstarter was. Ehich I guess is a good sign. Wil mean mostly new players from the boardgame scene ordered it.

Daggerheart Sold Out in Two Weeks, Has Three-Year Plan in Place

No it did not! This was disproved YEARS ago. Why does this still come up? Here 2 links: Pathfinder Never Outsold 4E D&D (ICYMI) It only showed better results in a really really limited survey of us based hobbyshops. D&D alone did even made more money than the whole of paizo in the year 2013...

    D&D 5E (2024) Multiclass Ranger Fix?

Witcher only really became popular after witcher 3 which was released 2015. It got some us press in 2014 but that was also too late for big 5e influence. And before that it was a niche game, especially in the US. Ok so you have no evidence at all thats an influence. Just a feeling because you...

    D&D 5E (2024) Multiclass Ranger Fix?

The Witcher did not get popular long after D&D 5e was made. And the 5.24 ranger is not much different from the 5e one. Also I can see 0 influence from thr witcher in the ranger. Just because witcher is popular does not mean one needs to force that flavour onto a commpletly different class...

    D&D 5E (2024) Multiclass Ranger Fix?

I never said D&D is good at representing the witcher flavour. I said that the witcher is nowhere close to a ranger (or any other D&D class). A ranger is close to nature, a witcher is an unnatural being and some animals like cats have a natural disliking of witchers because of that.

    D&D 5E (2024) Multiclass Ranger Fix?

The ranger was literally modelled after aragorn. The witcher is not so long known and is quite different to a ranger flavour. Being a magically enhanced mutant using potions you brew is much closer to an alchemist. And in lord of the rings movies the scenes which made aragoen look like a...

    D&D 5E (2024) Multiclass Ranger Fix?

Which other media? Lord of the rings? Aragorn casts no spells. Computer games like World of warcraft? Hunter (Ranger) has no real spells only special shots scaling from ohysical attributes. Other RPGs like Pathfinder 2? Ranger can only get limited spells through choices but per default has...

    D&D 5E (2024) Multiclass Ranger Fix?

Which data? Your data from your own experience which is from 2014 and thus not applicable? Or your link to data from 2014 games (with average level below 5) which is also not applicable when talking about 2024 high level? Maybe I should post some "data" from 4E essentials showing the ranger...

    D&D 5E (2024) Multiclass Ranger Fix?

Sure, I also sugested using older subclasses, but if most of the new subclasses are weak (the ones people will have whn buying the PHB) then its still a problem. But thats where the problems come up and what OP is talking about. That many people feel the 2024 ranger in higher levels compares...

    D&D 5E (2024) Multiclass Ranger Fix?

Are they? If paladins could not cast regular spells they still have the smite class feature (yes it uses spell slots but the hunters mark class feature can also use spell slots but its not worth it). Also paladins still have an 1d8 damage increase on level 11. And also have their really really...

    D&D 5E (2024) Multiclass Ranger Fix?

Well the problems which are brought up with the ranger (in lots of discussions I did some googling today) are the following 1. The from level 6 to level 10 there is no damage increase at all. (ignoring spellslots) 2. Most classes have a big damage increase or another really strong feature on...

D&D 4E The (Finally Useful) Vampire Class

Thats why in 4E it is a class and not a race ;) Why should vampires as a fantasy be gone? Vampires the Maquerade 2 released this year. And we also still have the "Dude who beats enemy with a sword" fantasy and the "that one dude in lord of the rings as a class" fantasy going on and this for...

    D&D 5E (2024) Multiclass Ranger Fix?

Why not? This is a "half caster" although half in this game does not mean half power but less, since you get ot only less spell slots but also lower level ones. Also shield, resist elements, silvery barbs, command and dissonant wispers are also level 1 spells which are still useful later. One...
