D&D General AI Art for D&D: Experiments

D&D spell illustration challenge, day 48 : Expeditious Retreat Sometime, you don't need an hyperdetailed model to show that you don't need to outrun the bear, but you need to outrun the dwarf. A lesson that will teach the player not to invest too much time in a background at level 1. Only the...

D&D General AI Art for D&D: Experiments

The thread starts in 2023. I think the biggest leaps occurred before, maybe in 2022. When the thread started, it was already "good enough to look at". Quality is improving steadily, but we need to remember that one year before the thread, we were there:

Finally got it. I could either have the human guards, or the orcs. So at some point I just cut and paste the humans over a picture with an orc in paint, then ran the image through "image to iamge" with a low denoise.

I have been playing with Z-Image-Turbo. It runs local on average GPU and gives great result. I was particularly impressed with this image, even if it's not RPG-related, that was posted as a demo: I think I may start to be able to make photo props for contemporary/cthulhu adventures now. I...

Not sure what’s going on here

Too bad. I modified my post after testing it (don't worry, it was a harmless image of a cat).

Not sure what’s going on here

Have you tried tinyurl? Edit: just checked, it doesn't work, the hosting website will detect from where the connection originates and serve a different content, not just block DNS acccess. They put more effort into guaranteeing that they don't expose themselves to UK regulation than other websites.

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

Based on your approach, you could also say that the Thirty Years War is myth and legend for your average real life person, because they might have trouble identifying the protagonists by name. Which might be the case, actually. But I'd like to address the possibility of more formal learning as...

D&D General Wildly Diverse "Circus Troupe" Adventuring Parties

A campaign I play in is centered on a particular Cannith (rather traditional) family. Basically, it was something like you said: if you're a member of the family, you get access to the resources of the family. It worked: basically everyone accepted a blood link with the family, which was...

Time travel doesn't exist because time travel wiped out the timelines where it did

If you create an alternate timeline when time traveling, and you are guaranteed not to alter your own world (altering only another one, which you don't care about), I can see an monetary incentive to time travel: time tourism. Provided it can be achieved for an inexpensive price, it could work...

D&D General AI Art for D&D: Experiments

TBH, replacing human artists with images is what I'd do as a company. They just need to handle well the social acceptance, so they might be better off starting by making AI generated cartoons, and progressively turn the image quality closer to real image, then go for a real image feel. So they...

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

Such a survey might be representative of your regular Sword Coast denizen of the Netheril empire. If you ask around a Waterdeep market, you'll probably get nothing more than "a very old empire", "dunno", "a wizard-run country with flying cities", "it's the land of Ssaz Tam, isn't it?" or "they...

D&D General AI Art for D&D: Experiments

Web-based solutions are doing so much to avoid creating content that would reflect badly on their services that they are close to ban any female generation. Unfortunately, I have no suggestion to make outside of running a local generation software, which requires either a beefy graphic card or...

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

That's true, but I am not certain Larloch or Aumvor are people you'd seek to interview for your master's thesis at Candlekeep. Though not all arcanists were evil, so some good ones might still be out there.
