    Elvis person or Beatles person?

Which is funny since it's the only Beatles movie that doesn't actually have the Beatles in it (only a brief cameo). The voices for the cartoon are actually done by impersonators. I'm a Beatles fan, and don't have a great deal of use for Elvis. Now he's not like Rap music or something which I...

    Poll: Best superhero flick?

Hmm, can we say abuse of privilege? You want a poll which includes Unbreakable as a choice, start one. I don't really consider it a superhero movie. Others can disagree. They can also start polls. buzzard

    Poll: Best superhero flick?

There are a number of aspects in which is differs from traditional superhero genre. There's no costume, not a whole lot of action, and honestly not much of what I'd consider a supervillain. It is an interesting taking on trying to treat a "superhero" realistically. However that makes it rather a...

    Villains and Vigilantes

I used to play a lot of this game. Depending on the GM we either had some really over the top heroes, or some pretty whimpy ones. Of course it also depended on the roll of the dice. The nice GMs allowed you some rerolls if things went south. buzzard

So, what is your desktop wallparer? (new thread for an old subject)

At home I go with a picture of my dog. At work I go with a picture of an H-Bomb blast. I see that as a proper means of giving the correct impression as to my disposition. buzzard

    Poll: Best superhero flick?

Well heck, I certainly wouldn't call Unbreakable a traditional superhero movie and it appears to have five votes ennumerated in the 'Other' category. While I did like Unbreakable, I neither consider it a superhero movie, nor do I consider it to be as good by my measure as some of the others on...

Can computers predict which movies will flop?

I'm gonna have to say the guy working on this is deluding himself. People are rather on the unpredictable side. If they weren't computer models for the stock market would be a far more valuable investment of his time. buzzard

I agree that Burton's Batman is nothing to write home about, but in the context of when it was released, it was a big deal. That's why I included it. buzzard

    Poll: Best superhero flick?

The thread on Sky High has prompted me to get opinions as to the best Superhero movie of all time. I'll list the ones I consider worthy of consideration. Of course if you have a different preference, select other and post it.

    Sky High

No, it was a theatrical release. I don't know how much it raked in, but it was in theatres for a while. I saw it when it came out, and reccomended it to one of the techs here at work, and he took his young daughter to see it. They both enjoyed it as well. I will certainly say it doesn't...

    Your Favorite War Movies...

Most of my favorites have been mentioned. Bridge too Far Longest Day Patton We Were Soldiers Blackhawk Down Sergeant York (which is a great movie if you haven't seen it) and just for sentiment's sake Sands of Iwo Jima As a counterpoint I only like the Normandy scene of Saving Private Ryan. I...

I Love Gaming but I Hate Gamers!

On the RPGA front, I'd have to say people are hit and miss. I know a number of decent people from RPGA. I also know a bunch I'd just as soon not let into my house. As for age vs. maturity, there is certainly some correlation. Though I have certainly games with some teens at cons that a very...

    Carbon nanotube bomb?

Yes, but if something doesn't combust particularly fast, it won't actually explode (unless put inside a vessel which can contain pressure and then burst). The article didn't mention anything about rate of combustion. Though as a rule, I rather doubt it could be that fast. Real explosives...

Anyone here ever used the Tarrasque succesfully?

Oh lordy, I just did some applying of that template to a tarrasque, and it comes out quite obnoxious. Of course the template doesn't actually solve everything weak about the tarrasque though. Then again something with AC 66 and a bite for +90 4d8+35 damage is a bit disturbing. Oh yeah, and...
