    Dual-weapon fighting is extremely lackluster

1d6+3 gives the following spread: 4,5,6,7,8,9. Halving and rounding down you get 2,2,3,3,4,4. The average of those figures is 3.

    Dual-weapon fighting is extremely lackluster

Yes, I pointed at doubling your chances to inflict non-damage riders as the reason to use dueal wielding. Mowing down minions would be a good one too if you expect to fight 1d6, 3hp hit die critters forever. Once you gets past them dual wielding is a liability, damage wise.

    Dual-weapon fighting is extremely lackluster

No it's not. You must use finesse weapons, which deals less damage than most one handed martial weapons, and half the time you'll be rounding your damage down. One time bonus damage is also rounded down. Let's suppose a fighter with +3 Str, using finesse weapons he'll be doing an average of 3...

    Dual-weapon fighting is extremely lackluster

It doubles your chances of hitting and inflicting a rider that happens on a hit. Five minutes after publishing, when we have enough splatbooks to give rogues three dozen ways to get advantage every turn, expect a lot of them dual wielding whips and perma-immobilizing your solos. In any case...

[Playtest 2] Races: Humans too good?

Having so many universal human traits to choose from I don't know why they resorted for some so bland. I would have suggested a choice from one of these: Murderhobo: As a human, your ability to benefit from death and misery is unparalleled. When you clear a lair, you can increase the treasure...

[Playtest 2] Races: Humans too good?

Stats are not all, but mechanically they are so much that they drown those specific benefits. I'm not ignoring the importance of hit points, but raw Con determines how well you can run or swim for long periods of time, how long can you go without rest, hold your breath, the lot. Humans can do...

[Playtest 2] Races: Humans too good?

I'm finding curious that humans are as agile as halflings, as tough as dwarves and as smart as high elves. Some more agile, tougher or smarter, even.

Glancing Blow Looks Like A Miss

"Roll your cs die and add it to your attack roll, but the attack deaks half damage" I would have gone that way.

[Playtest 2] Spell damage out of whack?

"I suggest you slit your throat" I'd be more worried about that.

Can someoone explain the "Daily Hate" for me?

I always thought that the reason must be very closely linked to the answer of why must Buffy kick a vampire in the face for 5 minutes before stabbing him in the heart with a piece of wood. It'd make much more sense to try the stabbing maneuver from the start.

Even Newer(er) Tavern Thread: The Hanged Man

Prime was in the middle of picking up his stuff to leave when Vermitrax spoke. +++That necromancer wasn't up to the task. And I'm for some variety after all those goblins and undead+++ +++Still, look like the place is dead. I think I can use that mage's bony ass as target practice for the...

Can anyone review my L4W PC?

Welcome to the forums! This particular forum is not however the best for this thread (most L4W judges are not moderators; I'm not a judge or moderator either, you just are lucky I saw this thread) You should get your question here, where they stand a better chance of being answered. In any...

    D&D 5E (2014) Psionics in 5e: how?

I had to google that to know what the heck was about.

    D&D 5E (2014) Psionics in 5e: how?

Behold the power of boredom. A poor attempt at psionics rules. You can use, dislike, suggest or alter them as you like. If anyone likes it, I may include the psychic warrior when we know exactly what combat superiority dice can do.

    D&D 5E (2014) Psionics in 5e: how?

I'm in fact doing something very similar purely for fun, after I created the thread. I'll post here a draft as soon I'm finished.

    D&D 5E (2014) Psionics in 5e: how?

So, it has come to this. This thread is not to discuss if psionics belongs to d&d (discussion that will surely become ugly very quickly) nor to debate if it should be included in the core books – as much as I’ve liked the concept in previous editions, there are good reasons to why it...

    D&D Next Q&A 9 August

I'm trying to figure how this will work within the simple combat frameword 5e has at the moment. Incredibly useful in 4e, since the marking and OAs mechanics usually meant the enemy couldn't reach other party members without negative effects; in 5e, they flip you the bird, spend at most 5 feet...

Why not combine the Fighter and Monk Classes?

I don't believe a monk is incompatible with a strong unarmed or unarmored option for the fighter, and in fact I think it'd be a good asset provided neither option is grossly superior to the other. Those who want to customize his fighter choosing the right options should be able to do so, those...

I'm more interested in 13th Age myself.

Monte Cook's new RPG: Numenera [UPDATED]

The setting reminded me of Futurama's pilot episode, when Fry gets frozen and time fasts forward. Scyscrapers get blasted by aliens, then civilization starts again, build castles, and those get blasted by aliens too. Two times is fun, 8 times might make the timeline an overly long joke.
