    Any one do solo play?

Kind of getting dull mentioning my own stuff so I'll drop in the Mythic Generator, which others have mentioned as well worth a look on several occasions. Not sure where you can get it new. There's a good to go, easy to run system in Treasure with random rolls for campaigns and adventures...

    Edition reccomendations? (Earlier d&d)

I hardly know where to begin :-S While your personal experience or understanding may match your comments - I'm afraid you've been misinformed - big time: Old School is for a lot more than dungeon crawls. Using your imagination and improvising in various ways is very much the quintessential...

    Edition reccomendations? (Earlier d&d)

I've a cut-down S&W variant clone called Renegade on free download. It's a playtest, as it's in the course of begin adapted further for kids. However, the game's complete in terms of everything you'd need to get going/ try-out Old School. Right-Click - Save Link As or the PDF'll pop right up...

    Corruption

Made the three posts in a day with not a second to spare. The playtest for the cut-down version of Corruption, Renegade, is now at the top of the GM's Day posts. Off for a rest now

    Corruption

Just put up the second of three posts for today - so the deal on Corruption is down the page a little now. New post is on solo play/ 'GM's Day: What No GM?'

    Corruption

Running a deal on our super-fat, extra gritty clone Corruption . . . 'In honour of GM's Day'. Also posting the free playtest copy of the cut-down, family-friendly version called Renegade later today - hugely temperamental web host permitting.

    Ashamed of being a Gamer?

Came across a group of shady bosses once and eventually put the lot out the door in tears. However, it's always going to be easier to take the third way: bullying workplace = rapidly develop the skill set required to move. Unfortunately, I didn't have that option, as one of them had chosen to...

    Ashamed of being a Gamer?

Interesting :) I'm not going to deny your experience of gamers and autism - or that it's a topic shrouded in myth. At the same time there's a reasonable amount of decent science supporting the observation that young autistic kids find it hard to express themselves through some kinds of...

    Ashamed of being a Gamer?

I fully accept that's your experience and view, but the science seems to say otherwise and it sounded odd as not roleplaying is considered a 'marker'/ potential diagnostic for the autistic spectrum: "Lack of imagination and creative play - such as not enjoying or taking part in role-play...

    Ashamed of being a Gamer?

Hear what you're saying, but it gets a bit lost in the "Quite a few gamers (and geeks in general) are on the autism spectrum", which is a generalisation and (frankly scary) medicalisation of both autism and gaming. It also doesn't seem entirely even-handed to ask for respect for everyone, only...

    D&D Parents

TTRPG players often comment about where to find more players, how to find people they like playing with/ share styles, will RPGs have a future. Might take a while, but this looks like a good way to get there

    Trying out some indie RPGs...

Treasure is a very straightforward, but full, free fantasy system with novel/ experimental options including: very modular design playing using graphics, (or text and graphics) completely editable in the html version solo, team or GMd play play in boardgame, card, map free or mapped styles...

Looking for Ideas to Creep Out My Players

Made lists of kind of creepy stuff/ omens for clone Corruption. They're not horror, but here's a small sample of omens and 'unsettling events' that might amuse: Birds trapped inside and trying to escape a sealed building Blood of unusual or changing color, texture or properties...

    D&D in the Classroom

@Nytmare 's approach seems sensible, as your audience is unlikely to have the shared expectations, skills and time to take on board a rule set, a highly imaginative context and the actual topic, i.e. effective persuasion. Kind of like a present you can't see or get into because the paper's too...

    D&D in the Classroom

There are a few ways to go about this. I'm on mobile right now , which isn't much use. Post this evening when I get to a desktop :-)

    Iteration.

It allows them to work on redefining the game in terms of shaping more overlapping and connective layers of gameplay, formatting and/ or themes. A move from the sharp snap of a broken edition limb to smooth, flexible transitions between different styles/ types of gameplay, formats and themes.

[Play Report] DMing for Middle/High Schoolers

The system-free added content tucked inside my fat, but inexpensive, clone Corruption is stuffed with years of water to sponge scenario/ drive them to distraction material. (Please excuse the mild pimping). There are fingertip-ready options available in Alderac's Ultimate Toolbox too.

    Broken NDAs or Elaborate Trolls?

Clearly proving beyond any doubt that the total lack of a reply to my pizza/ goat-based theory means we'd better start hoarding pink dice like yesterday. Did I mention there's a power-up if the dice are fluffy. Or, perhaps they've tired of hand-waving firebomb threads based on a complete...

    Broken NDAs or Elaborate Trolls?

Just got my hands on the pizza boxes Monte Cook and Mike Mearls doodled on while finalising the plans for 5e. I've combined that level of insight with examining the intestines of a goat, and I now know exactly how 5e plays: the win PC class is that old favourite the dancing swordfish there's...
