    Ptolus in the Swordlands

Hi Odhanan! Preferably Iron Heroes throughout (I have the players companion on order which may help with this) but if this becomes too problematic I may compromise to having some NPCs retain their current D&D spellcasting classes (but with a modified background to explain why).

    Ptolus in the Swordlands

I've been toying with idea of using Ptolus in conjunction with Iron Heroes! Crazy I know! :heh: Particularly how magic-rich Ptolus is . . . Just wondered if anyone else had attempted this?

Corsair - Guide to d20 Ships

Has any one bought Adamant Entertainment's supplement Corsair - Guide to d20 Ships? I'm thinking of running a "pirate" campaign and wondered how well this would help with the inevitable ship-to-ship combat! (As well as sea travel in general . . .)

    A Feat progression poll

I use the Conan d20 variant in standard D&D - that is, standard feat progression plus one bonus feat per 5 levels if the character only has class level in his culture's favoured classes. This is a modified version of multiclassing based on a bonus for staying in a restricted group of classes...

    I hate cross class skills....

You could formalise this as an additional number of skills equal to a character's intelligence modifier +1? (The +1 is to establish a minimum amount of flexibility for low INT characters.)

Sell me on Complete Mage/Complete Scoundrel/Complete Champion

I've read some positive and negative comments about the "new" Complete series and I'd be grateful if any one who owns any of the three books could highlight what the strengths are from each one. Commenting on the weaknesses is OK but I'd rather the thread stayed positive if ay all possible! :D

Star Wars Saga, the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Just as an aside, I haven't received my copy yet but I was toying with using the rules as the basis for a Firefly campaign. I'd be really interested in seeing your versions of the crew.

    D&D 4E I'm not gonna do 4E

If 4E is a tidying up of 3.5E (and by that I mean simplification) like the new edition of Star Wars appears to be, then I'll probably buy the 3 core rule books and then use my current stock of 3E/3.5E stuff which will be relatively easy to convert over. Kind of what I did when 2E came out . . .

    Complete complete series?

Does anyone have a serious reply?

    Complete complete series?

As far as I'm aware the new series of "Complete" books includes: Complete Scoundrel Complete Mage Complete Champion Does anyone know of any subsequent books in the pipeline? Cheers! :D

    Arcana Evolved Published Adventures?

Thanks Varianor Abroad! :D I'll check out the free adventures (including Fine Print ;) ) - I have the Freeport Trilogy and will be interested in reading the conversion notes by Søren Thustrup.

    Arcana Evolved Published Adventures?

Thank you for the feedback - to be specific which out of the two entry-level adventures is the most full of flavour (I know this is subjective) Plague of Dreams or Siege on Ebonring Keep? Also, does Siege on Ebonring Keep suffer at all for being the first Arcana Evolved adbventure to be...

    Arcana Evolved Published Adventures?

Hi, For our next campaign we are planning on using Monte Cooke's Arcana Evolved. As this is really very different from standard D&D I was wondering if anyone could suggest a published module that would be a good introduction into the campaign world and help me set the tone for subsequent...

Tome of Magic - Using Demon Lords as Vestiges?

Thank you for all of the replies. :) I have FC1 and FC2 on order from Amazon which should hopefully make the process significantly less daunting (particularly if they contain information for a system for pacts albeit not the one I'm trying to develop). A real shame! Are there any insights...

Tome of Magic - Using Demon Lords as Vestiges?

For a while now I've been trying to integrate the Demon Lords of the Abyss in my campaign to a character class without them becoming merely an alternative source of arcane or divine magic. Looking at the Binder class in Tome of Magic has me thinking that this might be a way forwards with...

    Read Runes

Not sure I understand? A Fighter (or other class with 2 + Int skill points per level) with an Intelligence of 10 will have 8 skill points at 1st level (i.e. his 2 skill points due to class, + 0 for Int, x 4 at 1st level). For two Knowledge skills, i.e. two cross-class skills, he can spend his 8...

    Read Runes

Thanks for the help Ilium - I suspect making it 2 ranks in two different skills (which is effectively soaking up 4 or 8 skill points for class or cross-class skills) is the way that I'll go. No harm in numbered lists ;) Cheers!

    Read Runes

Thanks Iluim! As you suspected, I think the second option is the one I'm more tempted by. As this is going to be a Cultural/Regional Feat it is one that will have to be chosen at 1st level. IMHO Regional feats tend to be 1.5x as powerful as a standard feat. As such the maximum prerequisite...

    Read Runes

I'm thinking of adding Read Runes as a cultural feat for my next campaign (cultural feats work in a similar way to regional feats in the Players Guide to Faerun). It'll be based on the 2nd level Cleric spell, Augury, in terms of the answers given and materials used but will be usable for any...

    Magic item entering the campaign

Thanks - I had "guestimated" something similar . . . although on the low end of your spread. Cheers!
