    Hide armor expertise

It would be if said feat was meant more as a feat tax to fix some perceived shortcoming of the barb, and less so of intentional power creep (along the lines of expertise). If so, we can extrapolate that other classes facing the same issue might be deserving of a similar benefit. Else, if we...

    Hide armor expertise

Then maybe the answer is to introduce a similar feat for fighters (and any other class who suffers from such a scenario), rather than ban the hide expertise feat simply because other classes don't get it. Though to be honest, I have yet to see a fighter who maxes out both str and con, or at...

    Grappling Massive Opponents

Nope. That's what sucks about grappling (and trip/disarm/bull-rush etc). They tend to favour the enemies over the PCs. :(

    "Siloing" feats?

Isn't that what a good/lackluster diplomacy score is supposed to represent? Your character's ability to negotiate as opposed to the player controlling him? :erm: Not that I don't recognize it as an incentive to encourage players to contribute rather than simply rely on mundane die rolls, but...

Project Phoenix fighter discussion (Forked from: Feat Points)

Here is the basic gist of a warblade. Tome of Battle: The Book of Nine Swords If you want to know what maneuvers he gets, you can consider looking though the maneuver cards here (bearing in mind the warblade gets access to diamond mind, iron heart, tiger claw, white raven and stone dragon)...

    Hide armor expertise

The downside is that he does so in tandem with str, and both benefit the same defense. What defenses? A barb with good str/con will have crappy dex and abyssmal mental stats, meaning his reflex and will defenses will be tantamount to "auto-fail", compared to other classes which typically have...

    Wild Elf Luck

I see where you are coming from. For some reason, I kept thinking that it set the bonus to a fix value, rather than increase it by a certain amount. :erm: I guess they would stack, if you are willing to burn 2 feats on boosting an encounter power (though it certainly seems useful if you want to...

    Wild Elf Luck

I actually see the source of the bonus as being from the elven accuracy racial power, and not from the feat. So elven accuracy can be interpreted as granting 2 bonuses - +2 and +1d4. Would they stack or overlap? I am inclined to say the latter.

    Wild Elf Luck

Would they both be considered bonuses from the same source? What is the wording of said feat? I am inclined to think that it would grant you either +2 or 1d4, whichever is better.

    Hide armor expertise

I wonder what was wotc's rationale behind designing said feat. Surely they would have enough experience by now to recognize a blatantly overpowered feat when they see one? This isn't some innocuous looking feat which seems harmless enough on its own, and is really only broken when used in...

To which I would respond that only a few maneuvers are obviously magical in nature (and they are not even warblade-centric). It is quite possible to simulate mundane fighting styles using those maneuvers. ToB is more than just teleporting fighters throwing fireballs. I am pretty sure a warblade...

Project Phoenix fighter discussion (Forked from: Feat Points)

I would say the key reason why a fighter is typically considered a 2-4 lv dip is primarily because feats fail to scale accordingly with higher lv spells, as well as the lack of high-powered feats which a fighter can take at higher lvs to ensure he remains on par with a spellcaster. For...

Born of the Three Thunders + Spells w/ durations

The distinction is that no further action is required on part of the caster to deal the damage. When you cast lightning bolt, you directly deal 10d6 (say) damage to the target. When you summon a monster, you still need to command the monster to attack. The monster still needs to move and make...

Born of the Three Thunders + Spells w/ durations

One could argue that lightning ring is not a valid recipient of the born of 3 thunders feat since it technically does not deal any damage directly, it simply creates a lightning ring which lets you later deal damage with it. The same reason why a maximized summon monster spell does not bring...

    Orb spells vs anti-magic?

Believe me when I say this was a very hotly debated topic some time back on the gleemax forums, what with orbs technically being an instantaneous conjuration spell and all. :] Rules compendium has this very ambiguously worded section about an instantaneous spell being suppressed and cancelled...

Good spell to cast via Miracle for my evil cleric?

Actually, he said "since lv10". They are now lv18+ already (the part about the cleric using miracle should already have been a big tip-off). ;)

Basically the rest of the demon lords and their aspects? ;)

    Draconic Power and Spelllike ability

I would say it works similar to spell focus. So they should only apply to spells. No harm in letting them apply to SLAs though. Are we talking about a dragonblood sorc with the SLA substitution feature?

Too young to play D&D 4e

I am not sure if it is a guy thing, but when I first picked up dnd (2ed, ~14 years old), we were primarily interested with combat, and less so with the roleplaying aspect (in that we simply assumed that we were in the right and by extension, anyone who got in our way were evil in some way)...

Good spell to cast via Miracle for my evil cleric?

How the heck did your paladin get a touch AC that high? 10base, +5deflection, +5expertise, add some for a decent dex and some misc dodge bonuses perhaps?
