It would depend if the patron is the blade, then it's a hexblade; if not then its PotB. Though, like I said, I get more GOOlock vibes from the otherworldly elements in the trailer or Raven Queen (I know 2014 lore hexblade is associated with RQ, but this strikes me as more involved than that).

I think it's more that they kept it. There have been some people online complaining that WotC is removing any kind of Real World reference from newer products because of how they did deities on the DMG24
