D&D 4E Entire Zeitgeist AP available pdf for download RIGHT HERE!

This is an incredible adventure path. Backed it on Kickstarter, got the three-book printed edition, played through the whole thing with my group over several years. Highly recommended.

    Draw Steel Cheat Sheets

To be fair, it’s a large font and I used a lot of whitespace to avoid sections crossing page boundaries, and repetition for clarity (especially the hiding rules). The rules also do a good job of covering edge conditions, especially considering the tactical positioning emphasis of the game, like...

    Draw Steel Cheat Sheets

My group is starting Delian Tomb and having a great time with Draw Steel. We all liked the tactical richness of 4e and Draw Steel does it even better. That said, there’s a lot of rules, especially for a new group, and we didn’t find the included PDFs that great for referencing at the table. I...

ZEITGEIST Finished Zeitgeist after 6.5 years

I backed the Kickstarter and played the full campaign with my group, translating from 4e to 5e as we went. We finished a few years ago. Absolutely amazing campaign. We got hundreds of hours of enjoyment out of it. Prior to that, we played WotBS and enjoyed that too. Thank you ENWorld!

Matt Colville discusses details of MCDM

And they expect about 1200 words per day, and pay for revisions, which also comes to $50/hr.

Easy DIY Gaming Table (no woodworking)

I've made a bunch of improvements to the build instructions. Most notably, I was able to get the default cost down from $1,700 to $1,405! And with a few compromises, it can be built for as little as $820. (Plus shipping.) I've also added schematics for other size tables, including a 3.5' square...

Lines from games without precedent in human history

knock knock Corpsegrinders! (Part of a very silly plan on the part of the party to gain entrance to a castle.)

Easy DIY Gaming Table (no woodworking)

Build instructions! I've attached my draft write-up for how to build the game table. Don't feel like you have to read it, but if you do, I'd like your feedback. I'm particularly interested in hearing about how clear the instructions are, and of course if there's any serious mistakes.

Easy DIY Gaming Table (no woodworking)

Definitely. It wasn’t cheap, but still less expensive than any other option, even building it myself out of hardwood (not that I could).

Easy DIY Gaming Table (no woodworking)

The table’s done! I’m thrilled with how it turned out. I’m going to put together build instructions for it anyone’s interested.

What Is Your Favorite Linear Adventure/Campaign

My group enjoyed Zeitgeist quite a bit. War of the Brurning Sky was also good, but was a bit of a slog in the last few adventures. That might have been more a 4e problem than a campaign problem, though.

When Player Driven Adventures Don't Pan Out

This is super interesting, thank you! I see how that could work for most of the gaming I do. I do a lot of small-scale improv at the table and it usually works better than things I planned in advance. But I don’t see how it would work for site-based games. Dungeons, ruins, etc… the kind of...

When Player Driven Adventures Don't Pan Out

A stream is a lot to ask, but I’m genuinely interested in learning more. I’d like to do more player-driven campaigns, but the prep work was my Achilles heel.

When Player Driven Adventures Don't Pan Out

I leaned hard into a player-driven approach for my last campaign. (5e 2014.) It worked okay, but not nearly as well as I hoped, and my experience was similar to yours: they stopped doing their homework and struggled with analysis paralysis. It ended up being too much work for me, so I brought...

How does your group handle an absent player?

Previous campaign: the PC is presumed to still be there, but “off camera,” and fights were rebalanced so their fair share of monsters are also off-camera. Current campaign is a very silly megadungeon called The Grande Temple of Jing. When players are absent, a slot in the floor opens and their...

    Share your Stonetop stories [+]

I just got to the "Threats" section of book 1. (This is about creating and running persistent threats.) This section is so good. I'm really seeing how I can use this to make a world that's alive and interesting. I particularly loved the examples of threats that . There's so much great...

    Share your Stonetop stories [+]

I just backed Stonetop after hearing good things for the past two months. I'm only on page 82 of the first book, but I'm very impressed! I'd love for you to share your experiences with playing Stonetop. Roll +CHA: on a 10+, pick 2; on a 7-9, pick 1. On a 6-, realize that [+] means "positive...

Easy DIY Gaming Table (no woodworking)

I spent the last few days experimenting with my test order. I found some problems, but they were easily fixed. My biggest concern was the end support system. I'm using three 6-inch plates on the short edge, and my concern was that they would lever down under the weight. This picture shows the...

    Armoured MMA

The announcers talk about “points” being forbidden for safety reasons. I assume that means stabby stabby is against the rules.
