Actually, on consideration, +INT to AC does cover it. I'd just give them heavy armour proficiency and say that they don't get the INT bonus whilst wearing it.

I'd also echo the suggestion to spend a week or two getting feedback on the PDF before printing. I have a range of things I'd like to ask about, and I'm sure many of them could be resolved with a simple word tweak or two.
