    These are feats, they are NOT supposed to penalize the caster; but give them a "balanced" measurable return for investing in learning it. ASF, or any other penalty shouldn't be suggested/implemented with this type of feat IMO.

    Did a couple of these over on the WizO's boards myself so I thought I'd share some feedback ;) 3 levels lower is way too much. I would go with 2 lower, but probably 1 lower is best. Think you have a typo there in the first sentence second word ;) I would go with the suggested half damage...

    Well, my "elegant solution" was to bring back 0-level (& fill it out which also helps with dipping), drop the x4 modifier from 1st level, & just have the character essentially x2 lower than 3.x characters. Makes the DCs with feats & all more in line with what I think each level of character...

    I think what Thanee's getting at is that number involved in the choice isn't a linear progression for a point basis analysis. After a point it is a diminishing return because all you have is 1 choice. It doesn't matter if there are 25 really good feats or 1000 whatever feats, you still only get...
