Wondering if Sebastian Crow's Guide to Drakkenheim is coming to D&D Beyond as well... Also curious as to how many of the Lairs in Monsters of Drakkenheim are located in the city... Just bought Dungeons of Drakkenheim and as a Mordheim fan I'm loving it!

    What’s your favorite boxed set?

Love, love, love this box. As a dedicated Call of Cthulhu GM this was so much better to me than Cthulhu by Gaslight! I just wish there was more support for more evil human cultists as opponents, as opposed to monsters for villains...

    What’s your favorite boxed set?

I skipped all the BECMI and BX sets back in the day. I started with Holmes Basic, and then went on to other nonD&D games (Champtions, Call of Cthulhu, Pendragon, RuneQuest) I was busy playing other things at the time. I've acquired all of them in the last 10 years or so and they are very...

    What’s your favorite boxed set?

CIty of Greyhawk was published in 1989 for AD&D 2e. It was written by Douglas Niles, Carl Sargent, and Rik Rose. It details the city and the Cairn Hills, the Mistmarsh, the Plain of Greyhawk, and the Eastern Reach of the Gnarly Forest. It has a ton of NPCs, 24 adventure cards set both in and...

D&D General How has D&D changed over the decades?

Obviously this is a discussion of D&D on a D&D board, but these ideas espoused by so many players of D&D are always so puzzling to me... As a person whose first deep immersion into the hobby came from Champions (where death is generally not very likely) and then Call of Cthulhu (where death is...

Why Do You Hate An RPG System?

Well in my case. My players do not like or want their characters to die. So guess what as the DM I make sure they dont. I guess we've been having BAD WRONG FUN for 40 years.

D&D 5E Do PCs at your table have script immunity?

My players (whom I've GMd for over 40 years) don't like dying. It's just no fun for them and it generally ruins their mood and definatly dampens their desire to play. So generally unless its a heroic sacrifice type of situation the PCs in my game don't die.

Sean K Reynolds on working at Paizo (and other companies)

Thanks for the info! and while there are more than 2 execs at the company, it's still a small family owned company. and in those companies its the owners who generally make all decisions that in any way effect the bottom line. and so I'm just saying that really Erik (it seems to me) has...

Sean K Reynolds on working at Paizo (and other companies)

well as I understand it Paizo's really a very small company and there's Erik, one other guy and the owners (Lisa and Vic) at the top. So Erik's in a position where, if the owners don't want to respond to the issues, he has no say. He's just got to regurgitate their crap to the staff (or quit)...

Sean K Reynolds on working at Paizo (and other companies)

Yeah I mean I worked at a very large bank for 30 years, who implemented numerous of these techniques. Lean 6, 6 Sigma, and many others over the years. They spent countless millions on consultants to get these programs going. But as they were run at my bank (and I'm sure many other places) they...

D&D 5E Tracy & Laura Hickman Announce Skyraiders of Abarax

Backed. Myself I'm very intrigued by the Living Tome aspect and it's what pushed me over the edge from thinking about it to backing it.

D&D General Game Wizards: The Epic Battle for Dungeons & Dragons

Much of the evidence consists of letters written by them at the time. There is very little supposition in the book. It mostly does let the two men "speak for themselves" as it were with their own words. And neither I nor the author are saying they were bad people. It's just that many of their...

D&D General Game Wizards: The Epic Battle for Dungeons & Dragons

Not sure if anyone else has had a chance to read through this yet... I found it to be an interesting read, but also very sad. The picture it painted of both Gygax and Arnesun makes both of them look quite bad. They both come off as petty, vindictive, angry and sad men (at least during the years...

    D&D 5E Best Random Adventure/NPC/Exploration/Etc Generator Books

Title says it all! I'm looking for suggestions on good Random Generator/Tables books for Adventure Generation, NPC Generation, Travel/Exploration Encounters, etc..
