Immunities When you design monsters especially with UK's system in mind, DON'T give anything an immunity to anything. Because immunities are dangerous, and lead to things like this.... Void Cat: HP: 27( 1d8+12+7,Max HP) Speed 90 ft AC: 51(+2size+10 dex+12 insight+12 luck +5 natural AC) BAB...

I'm fairly sure that the killing beauty would be supernatural and probably have ALL the same limitations of the Blinding Beauty ability, which is that it would only work on humanoids, and quite possibly should be further limited to humanoids without subtypes. Since I see no reason that it should...

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

Don't... Just don't. Any CR number you get from that is FAAR to high to have meaning, and will need no more than a strength of 2280 to OHKO it. There really isn't point to any creature with more than about 25k HD, because by that point your reaching Pun-Pun and Akashic CR levels. Again... any...

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

I agree. My number of 720,000 was based soley off of... I don't actually agree with that number, I was merely doing the math. Actually we do have rules for volume, the hp rules for thickness are the rules to open a 10'x10' hole in a wall, so that a 10'x10'x10' room would have 120 times the hp...

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

Yes I agree that D&D does not use an exponential damage system, but UK DOES. However, if we want to use straight D&D rules, then the hp of a planet is defined by the hp of an 4000 mile radius ball of stone, which was something like 67 billion trillion damage needed to complete destroy it...

Right, that is saying that the ability scores increases should already by factored into the monster when creating it. Which means that a creature still should have ~HD/4+63 total attribute points.

But that system wouldn't work for a PC who for the most part never really gains size catagories. So then they are left without a mechanic to raise stats, which I think is a bad thing. Using a system that says that PC still DO gain attribute points every 4 HD, but monsters don't is shifting...

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

It's the same game mechanic. They are both just based on the VSC system. That says that damage doubles every 2 VSCs and a VSC is defined by an 8-fold weight increase for objects and a 15 point increase to strength for characters.

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

It's a 1d6 not a d4, d4 is for small clubs, a baseball bat would probably be a medium club or a great club. Yeah... a baseball bat would be a great club since it's assuming that you're weilding it two handed to get the most oomph. so it's probably closer to a d10. which gives 5.5 avg. damage...

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

UK's rules that a 64-fold increase in energy is a doubling of damage. So 2.4*10^32 is equal to 80*64^16.87380089. For simplicity, the damage from a baseball bat was assigned 6 points of damage. 6*2^16.87380089 is 720562.1724 or 720k. If I use 2.5 instead of 6 I get that a planet has 300k HP.

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

Then a planet has about 720,000 HP. But it's already been shown that that number doesn't make any sense, because a planet sized living creature has a MINIMUM of 8 million hit points, assuming just 1 hp per hit die, and a creature that has about 2 million attribute points should have atleast a...

    Monster Revisions

Well, yes and no. Yes, in the sense that you could never actually kill the Akashic records in a fight. However, you using the IH rules you could effectively become the Akashic records at a FINITE level, and so what ever CR that level corresponds to, would then be the upper limit for which CR...

    Monster Revisions

I would love to know what UK considered the CR of the Akashic Records to be using his system, because then anything with a number higher than that doesn't really make any sense.

    Monster Revisions

Really, any of the Mega-class and higher creatures don't really have meaning from a stat perspective. Because by this point you've got the 6000 str which lets you do effectively infinite damage, and so it just boils down to who hits first. And unless the creatures have any divine powers...

    Monster Revisions

Uhh... Mega-Tiny would be the size of CONTINENTS, Macro-medium is the size of mountains. And it would have probably 900-2000HD and every thing that goes with having that many HD. Probably nothing else special, since it's just a REALLY REALLY large humanoid.

Take the mountin giant from MM2 and apply the teratoid template from the Epic Bestiary to it twice, and that should give you a giant about a mile high. And remember to give it the things that go with that increased HD, like ability score improves every time HD is divisible by 4, feats every...

    Stats and Balance

I've been doing alot of thinking about stats and what having one additional point in a stat means from a game effects standpoint. So let us begin by seeing what someone with a 100 in a given stat can do, and what the stat does at this level. Str 100: Gives a +50 to strength based attack and...

    Post your gods!

Dragon Gods I was just thinking about the Dragon Dieties and their escorts/guards/whatever and what the CRs mean in v5. So Bahamut has his 7 Great-Wyrm Gold Dragons and poor Tiamat only have 1 Great-Wyrm of each of the 5 colours she represents. So Bahamut was stated to be CR 107 which...

Immortals Handbook - Grimoire (Artifacts, Epic Magic discussion)

I've only tried it at LOW epic, like levels 21-23, and even then you had to be lvl 21+ to use epic items. There are 1 of 3 things that would need to be done in order to play without the multiplier. 1.) Limit wealth, this seems to be roughtly speaking what you seem most in favour of. 2.) Require...

Immortals Handbook - Grimoire (Artifacts, Epic Magic discussion)

Actually +6 armor is 360,000 gp, and becomes L31 and +6 weapons are 720,000 which makes the weapons a L41 item.
