Mongoose's New IP: Traveller is BACK

That school of thought wouldn't be familiar with the sales figures for Traveller. Until the Mongoose deal, you had 3 active licensees for Traveller, each apparently satisfied enough with the return on their investment to continue to renew their licenses. I don't have the sales figures for the...

    T20 is super heroic?

Mongoose's New IP: Traveller is BACK

*sniff* Smells like Traveller fandom... ;)
  4. Q

Mongoose's New IP: Traveller is BACK

As far as I am aware, the exact details of the Mongoose rules are not known yet other than being based on CT and designed to work with T5 in mind. My speculation (and that is all this is) is that to work in hand with T5, the Mongoose rules would need to at least be compatible task-wise with the...

Mongoose's New IP: Traveller is BACK

Or just a misspelling that was never corrected :P
  6. Q

Mongoose's New IP: Traveller is BACK

Like any of the setting material you shouldn't have much problem converting it for use with any of the Traveller rulesets I'd imagine. And we'll still be supporting T20 and Gateway for a good while yet.
  7. Q

Mongoose's New IP: Traveller is BACK

Once they expire they will not be renewed and the Mongoose Traveller and T5 will be the only two system available, one as the 'basic rules' the other the 'advanced'. In the case of T20 we still have a few years to go. Same as it does for our Gateway material. We'll be able to continue to...

Mongoose's New IP: Traveller is BACK

    It'll definitely be interesting ;)

    Sf-rpg?

Plate full and major personal life issues. There is a version being done by another company (93 Game Studio?), it's called Twilight: 2013. I don't know anything about it other than it's being done.
  10. Q

    Sf-rpg?

This year? No. Next year it's quite possible.
  11. Q

    Sf-rpg?

We released a PDF version while a final layout and new artwork is being produced. It's also giving us a chance to clear up any typos and errata before printing. Unfortunately real-life has hit both the writer and the artist at the moment so work has slowed down a bit.

    Traveller T20

If you haven't gotten it already there is a free 'lite' version of the rules (T20 Lite) available at DTRPG, RPGNow or TravellerRPG.com.

D&D 4E What if 4e (whenever it happens) is not OGL?

Without the D&D name on it, nope it wouldn't come close to selling the same numbers. Hunter
  14. Q

D&D 4E What if 4e (whenever it happens) is not OGL?

Extremely doubtful it would offer any serious competition to D&D.

D&D 4E What if 4e (whenever it happens) is not OGL?

Just say you are compatible with the worlds' most popular roleplaying game...
  16. Q

    traveler D20

Probably around $15-$20 for the PDF, depending on the overall page count. Print price pending.
  17. Q

    Question about OGL

Already answered. Not going to use d20 Modern or Future because they don't fit well with Traveller IMO. Hunter
  18. Q

    Question about OGL

Well you can use an XP chart, T20 has always had one. I'm not sure where that idea ever came from. You just can't use the one from the core d20 books. Beyond that, you pretty much hit the nail on the head. Lets us release a stand-alone book for character creation.
  19. Q

    traveler D20

I quite agree! It's fun to work on though ;) Hunter
  20. Q

    traveler D20

Fair enough. I can't say whether or not the rules I am working on will ever replace the current system. One of my goals is to try and keep the system balanced against equivalently experienced d20 character levels. Hunter
