    More Dark Sun Goodness

Capiche Reading the snippet here I thought they sounded like the medieval stereotype of Jews. Which didn't really seem appropriate in general, and especially for dragonborn. But reading the actual article, they sound a lot like Italian or Russian mobsters. Forming rivalries amongst themselves...

    Mounts

Then it seems awesome. I've wanted to create a Talenta halfling riding a velociraptor type dino since before 4th edition was even announced and have been struggling to figure out how to do it. I was flirting with an archer ranger, maybe even using the beastmaster build to keep my mount at an...

Ok, so what's the 2011 setting...?

Hilarious!!! Though it actually seems like an even better idea for a setting now...

    Eberron: Thrane Archers?

You know, this makes a certain kind of sense and I would not be surprised if this was the case. In my mind Witch Hunters would be a good ranged divine class, and the name Seeker avoids the various awkward connotations of that name while still implying that they find what lurks in the darkness...

    goliath path and powers

Warden's have an at-will power that says "Melee 2" for it's reach, if a Goliath Warden takes the Goliath paragon path and has his personal reach extended to 2 does that mean the power now has reach 3?

    Demogorgon: Lame or Awesome?

This one doesn't have the long necks, but, I think really, it's what a lot of you were looking for, even if you didn't know it yet. Because Steve Prescott is badass. BTW I really like the MM2 cover, and think the bright colors make it standout out over the drab MM1 cover. Even if I minded...

    Wild Shape, What's Yours?

Free Owlbear Hugs! Hmph... according to the preview the primal beast is "a formless thing of shadows, fur, feathers, and claws" Hey! That doesn't sound very formless. When deranged wizards put fur, feathers, and claws together they get an OWLBEAR!

    Spellscars= dragonmarks?

Personally it is my hope that the Spellscared from Forgotten Realms will BE the abberant dragonmarks for Eberron. It just seems like such a cool way to tie the two books together. And in my opinion abberant dragonmarks aren't meant to be a huge part of the setting, but this would provide them...

    Draconomicon Excerpt: Heart of Darkness

But what could be MORE appropriate? As someone who's looked in a 2ed product directed towards DMs, this is hardly the edition to complain about random die rolls influencing what the PCs face. And in this case, just like the rolls to recharge monster powers, it is to prevent the monsters...

Compiled info on upcoming classes & races

Oh jeez... empath? That would certainly be the lamest name for a 4e class I've ever heard suggested. The 4e psionic leader should be called The Seer. 100% If they call it an empath, and I agree that there would even be a lot of empathing going on with the class, I'm not buying the PHBIII.

What do you want WOTC to release as the next 4e campaign setting?

This Poll Blows Um... you're a lot more likely to see a Planescape setting than Greyhawk, or Dragonlance or Spelljammer. There's nothing that really STANDS OUT about Greyhawk or Dragonlance, no marketable impression those settings give. A D&D in space is almost certainly sellable, but I imagine...

    Playing Minotaurs

I was almost sure this would happen. I've seen some pretty in depth damage potential by race/class charts and the minotaur and bugbear always topped them because of their "OVERSIZE" feature. Warden sure does sound very defendery, and I suppose they could mean it as in "a warden of the...

Verys Arkon's Character Booklet (v2) New 1 page version beta.

This is some great character sheet design. I love the first page. The left half is brilliant, and I like how there is enough room to describe things and not just name them on the right half. There are a few idiosyncratic things though. Like I could do without most of the personality...

    Warlord vs. Str. Cleric

Why the Warlord is SO Flippin Frustratin Except none of them NEED your support. Not for their at-wills to operate at 100% effectiveness and power. Sure you can give em that boost to 120%, but they don't need you to work with them to be reasonably or even exceptionally good at their job...

    Warlord vs. Str. Cleric

The Warlord is badly designed. I played a Dragonborn Inspiring Warlord as my first character during Keep on the Shadowfell. He ended up dying during the last encounter of the night and I was glad. His at-wills were furious smash and wolf pack tactics. Most turns all I was able to do was a...

Dragon 368 - Death Matters (But Never Happens)

I died My first 4e character ever, the first session, third and last encounter of the evening. It was the Keep on the Shadowfell, we fought some kobolds, and then before we know it, we're up against a cavern full of monsters and an undropable Iron Tooth. Chugrail Kegar died; everyone else but...

    Push, Pull, Slide and cliffs....

Curtained Window of Death It struck me as funny that there is no save for falling in a pit trap when it occured during a game. But I don't think it has so much to do with whether or not the creature knows the pit is there, but whether he is already in that square. Pit traps are assumed to...

    Fixing the Orb Wizard

That sounds absolutely perfect. I'm still not sure all the implements are balanced though. The staff gives a meaningful bonus all the time and because the wizard will always know if the attack will hit him after he uses the staffs power, so it always works compared to the other two which...

    Specialist

Kinda like humans. (That was a jab at humans, not you Nifft, who i assume is one of the Beakman's World penguins who has taken up imaginative cooperative gaming to occupy the void left by Paul Zaloom)
