So what do you find confusing about the term "hit"?

Well, if the term "hit" is confusing maybe its a sign you need to jazz up your combat descriptions.

Is it a matter of terminology? Some RPGs call dice "hits" rather than successes, because rolling a "success" and the task failing seems a little strange, and makes things ambiguous when someone says they "rolled a success." All i can say is rolling lots of dice is fun, and i dont find the math...

The pcs are cursed by a deity to spend eternity making strength checks to roll a boulder up a hill but the dc is always 1 higher than what the pcs can actually roll. The pcs reflect on the puposelessness of the excercise, and life in general, but conclude that they can forge their own meaning...

I have to admit I am a bit on the fence here. I like the comments about how SR might be adapted to SW because that's pretty useful to me. I will probably have to consult my players on how much they care about the rule set, and what they all like.

I don't mind advice. As a player, I have very little use for it, however. So long as the rulebooks aren't crowded with advice, I think I willk be fine. As a GM, though, I am less comfortable and primarily read the DMG for advice. But again, don't crowd my rules with advice, either.
