    D&D 5E What's a wizard to do?

And just after my quote you quoted, I did say that Versatility happening much later and with resource costs. But fresh out of the box, the other casting classes have clear advantages.

    D&D 5E What's a wizard to do?

I tried the Cleric/Wizard combo, and frankly, I am not so ... sure about it. You fall one level behind, which means at level 3, I still had level 1 spells (granted I had level 2 spell slots). And sure I had medium armor and a shield, which was far far more superior to Mage Armor (and saves a...

    D&D 5E What's a wizard to do?

The wizard is one of those classes that you will need to invest time and money and of course scrolls to take advantage of. The "extras" that the wizard gets is ok, but it is still meh compared to the utlity that other classes get. I would wager that a wizard that has spent a lot of his time...

    D&D 5E What's a wizard to do?

Umm, please quote everything and not a piece that you do not like, because I did say... But, where the wizard does shine, as he always has, is versitility. Read more: http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?367937-What-s-a-wizard-to-do/page2#ixzz3FemB103D

    D&D 5E What's a wizard to do?

Well, not sure what your full day constitutes, but generally most people work an 8 hour day. 10 hours on the high side. Even if you consider 16 hours of work and 8 hours of sleep that is a 24 hour day. And a level 9 spell is 450 gold. You look at 30 spells (not your school cause the other...

    D&D 5E What's a wizard to do?

My input is that the wizard out of the box is very very meh class. Almost pointless. Sorcerer and Warlock outshine the wizard in every way. But, where the wizard does shine, as he always has, is versitility. You can only have 44 spells minimum in your spellbook. Those other classes can only...

    D&D 5E Must-have bard spells?

Hmmm not sure. I would have to read the spell descriptions.

    D&D 5E Must-have bard spells?

Initiative is a check. Grappling is a check. I am sure there are other checks that could be bungled up.

D&D 5E My powergamer players wants to be a bard.

What is wrong with YOU people? You theorycraft and are complaining about a class and race combination and calling it overpowered? All of the classes have their "overpowered" moments. Have you guys even seen the Cleric? That class is obviously broken. Well not really, but they have some of...

D&D 5E How good are Barbarians?

Yeah, Arnold wore Leather armor, Hide armor, and I believe a breastplate? I would have to rewatch the movie. But only in the first movie... the rest of the time in the Destroyer he was nearly nekkid while everyone was chilly, he was not. He was Conan!

D&D 5E What is best company for dice?

When a die has a good hefty weight to it, and you have to think about the surface you roll it on so it will have zero chance of chipping, that is a good die in my opinion. I can speak highly enough of the Jade dice from Crystal Caste. I would love to have a 16mm set of the Meteor dice or the...

D&D 5E What is best company for dice?

I got the China Jade from Crystal Caste years ago. I still have em, and I love them! FYI, 16mm is the full size dice version.

D&D 5E Any word on (Full) 5e PDFs?

If $5 a month got me every single book in pdf format, I might consider this. If I have to pay $5 a month and pay for the pdf, then I will be upset. This is how pirates are born.

    D&D 5E "I have a 45 Strenght!"

How can you get past 30? Every time you raise an attribute, the rules say up to 20.

D&D 5E Any word on (Full) 5e PDFs?

I play Shadowrun, and when I purchase my books, I get the book + .pdf combo. I think if WoTC just takes a leap of faith, they will still see sales. Granted the .pdfs are watermarked with your email address, but still, I like to have a searchable document that I can stick on my tablet.

D&D 3E/3.5 What spells got the greatest buff from 3e to 5e?

I dont have the book in front of me, but under the multi-class rules I remember it saying something in there for spells in keeping the class level in mind for the spells known. I don't know for sure if cantrips are by class level or character level. Either way, cantrips just put you close to...

D&D 3E/3.5 What spells got the greatest buff from 3e to 5e?

Oh, well yeah, the cantrips do the autoscaling to "caster level" which isn't a thing but is a thing (under multiclass rules). Spells scale with spell slots now. But still... it isn't too bad of a mid level damage spell that doesn't miss (which isn't a big deal with the new ranged touch rules)...

D&D 3E/3.5 What spells got the greatest buff from 3e to 5e?

Magic Missile doesn't scale in 5e? I could have sworn it did (not having my PHB in front of me). You are able to split the missiles (you get 3 of them to start) to hit multiple or the same target. Yes, Clone is way way way better in 5e. Instead of Reincarnate all the time (poor man's...

D&D 5E What armor can druids wear? Is there a way to get a decent AC?

Yeah, that is the problem with the math... You are counting a situational modifier to AC (cover) as actual AC. That part, while I understand why you came up with it, it just doesn't jive with the spirit of the rules to lean in that direction of interpretation. No other armor spell/equipment...

D&D 5E What armor can druids wear? Is there a way to get a decent AC?

Yeah, I dont think Barkskin is in anyway overpowered either. It's a Concentration spell with a duration of 1 hour. Meaning if you sustain damage and fail your Concentration save... spell goes poof. Plus you cannot cast any other concentration spells.. I think it is a good intermediate spell...
