D&D has had more social impact than all but a very few other games and toys. It definitely belongs in there.

A Vin Diesel helmed D&D film will very likely still miss the mark. Fantasy films are hard to pull off. But getting him involved at least guarantees it will be a passion project for someone involved.

Well... That is a pretty logical and sound argument.

I think it would be a mistake to make this a grim gritty serious fantasy movie. I would prefer it go "the gamers" route personally. Though I don't expect that.

This movie will come out while Colbert is hosting late night.

There is literally nobody else I want involved in this movie more than I want Vin Diesel involved in this movie. Edgar Wright is a close second.

There is lots of fantastic fantasy RPG's available from other companies. There is a lot of good reasons to play them instead of D&D. WOTC defending it's copyright is not a very good reason to decide to stop playing a game you like. My suspicion is that the people proclaiming that this is going...

You know... Compared to other promo shots from wizkids. Promoshots for paizo and heroclix. I'm wondering if the d&d minis being shown are possibly final production pieces instead of paint masters. That would be a welcome move in my oppinion.
