D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

A heads up, tomorrow at 3pm EDT, I’ll be attending the Forgotten Realms panel at GenCon for a preview of the book. I’ll try and answer as many questions I can about what they reveal.

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

I feel like the Red Wizards are highly unlikely as they are straight up antagonists, and idk if Purple Dragons will be there either. I think the Arcane Brotherhood is more likely if they are doing with a morally dubious wizard group. Force Grey seems like an obvious option. If they want...

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

An unfortunate truth about the internet (and especially Internet forums) is that satisfied people don’t feel the need to talk about their satisfaction, yet unsatisfied people feel the need to voice their displeasure. Fandoms aren’t all inherently toxic. You just only hear from the toxic lot...

Forgotten Realms Books to Have Several Digital DLCs, Including One Featuring Asterion

You’re making a huge leap in logic. The article called the Astarion book about “how to run Vampire Urban Adventures.” It isn’t about player options.

Forgotten Realms Books to Have Several Digital DLCs, Including One Featuring Asterion

I wonder if the other supplements will be BG3 characters.

Forgotten Realms Books to Have Several Digital DLCs, Including One Featuring Asterion

There just isn’t any reason to assume they are doing a Vampire city. The article doesn’t say that. Only that the supplement provides rules for Urban Vampire adventures. That doesn’t mean a city full of vampires, that just means adventures in cities that involve vampires.

Forgotten Realms Books to Have Several Digital DLCs, Including One Featuring Asterion

Certainly a strange choice of words. But their modern day audience has heavy overlap with video games so using the same language makes some amount of marketing sense.

Forgotten Realms Books to Have Several Digital DLCs, Including One Featuring Asterion

I really doubt they will make a “Vampire City.” More likely it’s just rules and adventure ideas for how to run a Vampire villain preying on people in a city like Baldurs Gate.

Forgotten Realms Books to Have Several Digital DLCs, Including One Featuring Asterion

Game Informer released its article detailing the upcoming Forgotten Realms books for Dungeons and Dragons, and one small but important note is the inclusion of “several digital DLC” supplements. “Astarion’s Book of Hungers is one of several digital DLCs that will further expand the new setting...

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

Yes, you’re right. They won’t put a white male like Minsc on the cover anymore… 🙄

That’s not a mockup. That’s just how they are labeling the 2024 supplements.

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

I really think the 50 pages in Heroes of Fearun won’t be as focused on regions or places, and just be more about the setting for a player as a whole. Here’s the factions and what they mean for you, here’s the gods of the world and how people worship them, here’s what gold is called, here’s any...

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

Or… just use the Duergar in Monsters of the Multiverse. They already got an update, they don’t need a reprint here.

The article doesn’t say one way or the other.

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

The 50 pages in the Heroes guide is on general Fearun stuff players need to know. The gods, factions, equipment, and such. It won’t be full Gazetteer of areas or regions. The 50+ adventures in the Adventures guide are one-pagers like the DMG. They take up 50ish pages of the 240, so plenty of...

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

Assuming they are doing origin feats for all the backgrounds and not reusing any from the core. Which I would not assume.

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

That isn’t what the article says. “Adventures in Faerûn acts as the companion book to that player volume, and its focus is precisely what the title suggests. This dungeon master-targeted product is chock-full of over 50 adventures, some lengthy, and some built as extremely short one-offs that...
