And let this renown be used for something other than just bastion: like you gain a powerfull friend or someone gives you a magic item as a thanks. This way player not using the bastion system would get something useful if the rest of the group decided to using it.

It feels to me like bastion points should have a less mechanical name, as "renown" or something like that.
