    I like the idea of restricting it to humanoids. With that and the AOE size reduction, it may be effectively all that is needed. Perhaps I will try it with the creature type tweak and see how it goes. Hmm... this humanoid restriction might be what I do with Polymorph as well.

    I thought it should have received some type of nerf. I mean, banishment and polymorph aren't that different in function when cast on an enemy, and banishment was heavily nerfed. I think an unwilling creature should get a save at the end of each of its turns.

    Agree on Arcane Sword. Casting Spiritual Weapon at 6th level will likely yield higher average damage due to the ability modifier. A fix would be to simply add the spellcaster ability--just like Spiritual Weapon--which is how I will house-rule it going forward. 3d10 + spellcasting ability...

    That's fair. You're right, some of the wording is subtle, and I missed that. As I continue to look through the spells, there are definitely changes that are good (e.g., banishment, tiny hut--also an interesting take on counterspell). I guess my main concern at this point--apart from quibbles...

    I was hoping there would be more changes to spells from regular 5e. Why is True Strike still even a thing? There's a lot of either crappy or OP spells, so it would have been nice if they were changed or removed.
