I agree with everyone. Have the kind of fun you like. Me not liking your fun doesn’t invalidate it. My fun is not seeing any value in balance. Someone else’s fun is the quest for balance. And someone else’s fun is discussing/arguing about it all. Play what you like the way you like.

The only thing any of us have to ask is….are we having fun? Anything else is just people debating which version of fun is the right version.

Sorry friend. I roll a PC and I make the most of it. I just don't see the value in "balanced". If every PC is GREAT then none of them are. 🤷‍♂️ I believe the kids call this diversity. I'm all for the optimizers optimizing. I'm all for the mathletes mathelizing. I'm sure in the long run...

I don't define balance at all. If you can define it one way, and i can define it another way, and Harry over there can also define it their way...does it really mean anything at all? Its nuanced and as such it doesn't mean what everyone thinks it means. Just one mans view.

Touche' If we woke up tomorrow and "balance" was achieved.....i think a lot of people would then be upset that everything was too much the same.

Balance is a myth. There i said it!!! What % of people just make up their stats so they get what they want? And is what they want today for character X the same as what they might want tomorrow for character Y? This all sounds more poignant in my head. I'm going to go eat lunch now.

To declare that something is "hard" is just another vague term used to create division. Is DMing hard for you? Ask for help or look for tools that will make it "easier". Is DMing easy for you? Offer to help others. There is no real reason to argue over what is or isn't hard. The discussion...

That sounds hard. Nothing is hard unless it is. Nothing is easy unless it is. What someone think is easy or hard is only relevant to themselves.
