I am curious in you think the Ancient Dragon Turtle in Fizban's Treasury of Dragons is a positive in restoring him to his prior glory among monsters? Personally, I still think relative to the other Dragons and high end monsters it is still a shadow of what it was in Basic D&D.

I like the improvement but still think they should have been at the top of the pyramid. The artwork is awesome, they definitely look immense and primordial, oozing natural elemental forces.

It was tougher and did more damage than a Gold Dragon.

Looking back at my original D&D books and the Dragon Turtle was like the Tarrasque, a force of nature. It has definitely been nerfed as the subsequent editions came out. I wonder why? It's an awesome concept.
