    DnD Shorts final video

Oh yes, we're in the lootbox era of games.

    DnD Shorts final video

So, apparently, this DnD VTT is just Neverwinter Nights with DLC modules? That's not actually innovative. Will they be mad if someone points it out?

WotC Unveils Draft of New Open Gaming License

This is hitting where it hurts the most for WoTC right now. People working on every piece of "IP" they think they have and breaking it down to myths and older references, so it eventually becomes clear for anyone what really is public domain and what is not, also providing easier references for...

WotC To Give Core D&D Mechanics To Community Via Creative Commons

So we are talking about how to sink Hasbro even faster?

WotC To Give Core D&D Mechanics To Community Via Creative Commons

It looks like the lawyers took extra care to separate what parts of the SRD would make them lose a court case against the "you can't copyright game mechanics" and they just closed the rest of the SRD.

WotC Unveils Draft of New Open Gaming License

The way the license draft is today, you won't be able to, as an example, create a new path for a class with just CC-BY, nor create any monster that has the use of spells or the like. All CC-BY content would (IANAL / any other not "i'm not a legal advisor" preamble I could use) probably fall...

WotC Unveils Draft of New Open Gaming License

Just reading the SRD right now. So we have core mechanics (leveling up, hd, proeficiency, etc) but no classes, the rules about monster stats, but no monster, and the conditions.

WotC Unveils Draft of New Open Gaming License

The biggest issue, does someone see something they can use to change the license to something else later? If the core rules are licensed at CC-BY, just add the CC-BY 2 lines text and be done with it.

WotC Talks OGL... Again! Draft Coming Jan 20th With Feedback Survey; v1 De-Auth Still On

They don't read UA/playtests, that is just a tool for them to stop you talking about their naughty word designs outside (twitter, reddit, foruns, etc). I guess I can start assuming people asking "have you ever though of filling the questionnaires" are paid shills.

WotC Talks OGL... Again! Draft Coming Jan 20th With Feedback Survey; v1 De-Auth Still On

I started watching thinking this would be a nothingburger but holy naughty word.

Let them talk to themselves, the dice is already rolled.

D&D (2024) New leak looks real bad

They've learned nothing, I don't see any kind of tech to prevent it from leaking/identifying the leaker. I don't know the name of the tech, but it's some kind of light beacons that change colors depending on where you are seating, so at least you'd know where the guy who leaked information was...

    Congratulations WotC...

I understand, but the whole idea of 'subordinate' the lore to the mechanics is absurd in any kind of game based on telling a story. It's an absurd, to be honest. That was the dealbreaker to me that time. Forgotten Realms was the othe that suffered the most under it. Now, with one D&D, it's the...

The OGL -- Just What's Going On?

That's gamechanging, but I don't think people will try the litigation route even so. He just put the links: If You Love Something, Set it Free? Open Content Copyright Licensing and Creative Cultural Expression
