    Get Me Out of Here.

I've had enough, and I think people have had enough of me. I don't belong here. Not sure that I ever did. Regards.

    Get Me Out of Here.

I honestly had no other way of communicating this request. And I've tried. BELIEVE ME, I've tried. Tried "Account Details" link. Tried "Password and Security" link. In fact, I tried every link contained under my username link. Tried "Discord" (The most non-user-friendly mess ever created). Big...

D&D General D&D Editions: Anybody Else Feel Like They Don't Fit In?

The whole point behind the topic was to chime in with our feelings in response to the question as to whether we felt like we didn't fit in or not. You pretty much took every one of my points out of context so you could throw them back in my face. Bravo. It's replies like yours that exactly...

D&D General D&D Editions: Anybody Else Feel Like They Don't Fit In?

Used to be I decided what I was supposed to know or didn't. Forgive me if I wasn't 'hip' whenever it was that I was expected to be; I didn't get that particular heads-up. In simpler terms, I feel like I shouldn't have to know these terms at all just to have a conversation about TTRPG or anything...

D&D General D&D Editions: Anybody Else Feel Like They Don't Fit In?

My username tells you how far back I go. It was a time when AD&D (retroactively referred to as 1st Edition) was it. You played AD&D or you collected comic books. Needless to say, to paraphrase what George Lucas said about Star Wars when compared to Return of the Jedi as it was being filmed, your...

D&D General TIME Dungeons & Dragons Special

Well, I did qualify by pointing out how dull my forum search 'skills' had become.

D&D General TIME Dungeons & Dragons Special

Happy Presidents Day, good people. After a decent go of searching the forums, I was unable to find any reference to this: https://www.amazon.com/TIME-Dungeons-Dragons-Editors/dp/1547866470 published by DotDash Meredith Premium Publishing I'm relatively certain that my search methods need...

    Dragonquest Colleges

I not only run the DragonQuest system to this day, but I'm writing a new campaign for it. I have a home-brew rulesbook that essentially takes all the stuff from the revered SPI 2nd Edition and combines it with the new elements from TSR's 3rd edition. And since 2 + 3 = 5, I called it 5th Edition...

Payn's Ponderings~ Campaign settings and you?

I'm unsure how to answer the OP's question such that it fits into the framework of discussion, but I can say that I've tried a number of commercial RPG box settings (beginning with Greyhawk back in the 1980s), and I grew weary of losing creativity time trying to read through even the basic...

Positivity: What I'm doing to combat sexism in TTRPGs

I've got this proven method for handling those, but it works only once per game session. What you do is hide a rolled-up sock in a bag of crisps (it has to be clean if you don't want to sully the crisps). Then, the next time motor-head opens a mouth, fill it!

Positivity: What I'm doing to combat sexism in TTRPGs

Well, take heart then. I just happen to be in that older demographic. (Circa 1976!)

Pace of Play, Engagement and "Excitement"

For my part, I have never had any problems whatsoever with slow combat sessions or even dice-rolled combat at all. Part of being an effective DM/GM is being able to adapt to the preferences of the player group as a whole. But I think there's two sides to the argument of maintaining engagement...

Positivity: What I'm doing to combat sexism in TTRPGs

Me: Have at you, vile Sexism! (lunges with sword) Sexism: (parries sword attack with his sword) I have existed since humans began stacking stones, and I shall always exist! Your petty words count for nothing! (makes sweeping attack) Me: (parries sweeping attack) Ha, villain! Arrogance and a...

Hey!! Your avatar! Emirikol the Chaotic from the 1e Dungeon Masters Guide! At the bottom of the full pic is that dead guy who's still burning from magical fire. I cheated; looked just now. God bless Dave A. Trampier and may he rest in peace.

    D&D 1E Old Timers: Remember G1-2-3, D1-D2, D3, and Q1?

A-Series was A1 thru A4, if I recall correctly. Weren't the myconids (mushroom people) introduced in A4? The module had a hot pink color. Fun times.

    D&D 1E Old Timers: Remember G1-2-3, D1-D2, D3, and Q1?

Note: A question regarding a suggestion will follow at the end of this post. The following series of adventure modules was intended to be run consecutively by the DM as one campaign. G1, Steading of the Hill Giant Chief (1978) - Character Levels 6 or 7 G2, The Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant...
