[3.5] Giving players an even bigger reason to peek in the MM...

Peek? If you've seen the ad WotC ran recently (Dungeon #98, pp28-29) they've actually started marketing the MM to players as well as DMs.

What version of D&d/d20 do you plan on playing a year from now?

I think the users here who might not switch to 3.5E for whatever reason should empathize a lot more with folks who still play OD&D, 1E, or 2E than they may have before... ;)

    A spontaneus casting Mage

Re: Re: The insanity of dissing Runequest I'll second that. How hard would it have been for you to just correct CZ without getting all testy about it?

Zenon, I think you're confusing "amusement parks" with "death sports". Remind me to never go to Disneyland with you. ;) If you wanted to point us at a book, this one might have been more appropriate: The Bachman Books: Four Early Novels by Stephen King: Rage, the Long Walk, Roadwork, the...

Shane Hensley comments on the RPG industry

Um, please speak for yourself Wulf. Some of us like SAS d20 and use it alongside our other d20 System games (D&D, Star Wars, CoC, etc.) with no trouble at all. Not all of us get our knickers in a twist just because there are some small differences between the respective games. HP vs. VP/WP...

No Swordsman Skill For Me (Bad Wick, Bad)

Re: Re: Re: No Swordsman Skill For Me (Bad Wick, Bad) It's somewhere in this forum, but I can't afford to do a search to find the thread. See, I started playing d20 System games after SAS d20 came out and since this EN World the d20 place to be, I thought I'd start coming here. But then I read...

    What's better than d20?

Oh thank goodness, I thought I was the only other user on this board that actually liked Silver Age Sentinels d20. :o

No Swordsman Skill For Me (Bad Wick, Bad)

There is in Silver Age Sentinels d20, which ditched the "traditional" D&D 3E system of feats and skills in favor of a completely different skill system which works like the Tri-Stat System, but I'm afraid to say any more since SAS d20 seems to be a dirty word on this message board...!

    Good Drow

I guess if you want to be really technical about it, a Drow first made an appearance in the Dragonlance adventure gamebook "The Soulforge" (not to be confused with the later novel) -- although I think they later retconned its appearance out of the DL continuity and the Drow weren't seen again...

    Good Drow

That's not entirely true -- Drow may not be native to Krynn but thanks to the Dragonlance module DLS4 "Wild Elves" the Drow are definitely there...

    Good Drow

Doesn't the Forgotten Realms have the Ondonti: peaceful Orcs persecuted by the nearby humans? And don't forget Mystara, where an enclave of friendly Orcs live smack dab in the middle of Alfheim, the Elven kingdom. If we want to get away from Orcs and look at "humanoids" in general, aren't...

    Good Drow

According to the MM (p85), aren't 3E Drow "usually neutral evil"?

    Good Drow

As tempting as it might have been to not read ALL of your posts Redleg, I went back and did it again. It still seems to me that your point (sorry, your POINT) is all good Drow PCs are "Drizzt Wannabes", despite the fact that thanks to the UA there were probably already thousands of good Drow PCs...

    Good Drow

That's strange. I don't remember seeing an alignment requirement for Drow PCs in the Unearthed Arcana. That must have been how I played a good Drow in 1985. I'm not sure how I was playing a Drizzt wannabe years before Salvatore even wrote "The Crystal Shard" but I'm sure Redleg will tell me.

Xcellent! I think the idea is absolutely brilliant, and I'm looking forward to buying Xcrawl the minute it's released!
