D&D 5E 02/08/13 New playtest packet to released today. [Udate: PACKAGE OUT!][

Disclaimer: I haven't played the packet yet. This is all first impressions. First and foremost, I like the idea of having paths for each class. But I'm not sure if having to play through 2 levels before reaching your path is too long or not. I understand that the devs think of the first 2...

D&D 5E IMHO and comments about DnDNext new packet

Deadly Strike on Cleric - comment it -I'm kinda not into Deadly Strike being shared by all classes. I guess cleric's can use them, but I don't know about a Lifegiver using it when it's built around support. Fighter: I like the way the new fighter is designed. You can actually build your...

D&D 5E L&L: New Packet Hits This Wednesday

Very very excited for this one. For Druids: yes. players should have the choice between spellcasting and shapechanging versions. I don't know if summoning is part of spellcasting, but it can be a good third. For Rangers: I'm actually HAPPY that they took away combat-themed Rangers (archery and...

Can I get your opinion on the Race I created

why the +4 to Diplomacy and Intimidate. is it because they are peaceful with all races? if so, +4 is too big. or you can give +4 to Diplomacy and Intimidate only to orcs and dwarfs since their language is very similar. tending both races to be closer than most races. class restriction to...

    The Fair Folk

I never saw gnolls, goblin-kinds, giants, orcs as fey creatures. They are always presented as natural world creatures, not Feywild denizens. which i strongly support too

    Playtest Update

Here are my thoughts about the 2nd playtest I downloaded. Fighter - The expertise dice and the fighting style class feature is really good, and my players love it. I also love it. Now, their questions asked during 4e era is now answered, "Why isn't there a bow expert fighter?" Rogue - I...

    [Combat] Fighting Styles

The OP forgot some other fighting styles, maybe. Crossbowman It's different from an archer since this can be utilized in tight places like caves or similar. And reloading a crossbow takes too much time. Mounted Combat Not a fan. But it is another combat style.

    Breaking the Rules of Combat

DUDE, TRY THE NEW 'ESCALATION DICE' RULE IN 13TH AGE. It will solve all of your grinding problems!!! Escalation Dice: Use a separate d6. On the 3rd round, place it in the table and let it start at 1. Every successive rounds, increase it to 2 and so on until it reaches max at 6. What this does...

Why the Encounter Powers hate? (Maneuvers = Encounter)

Hi guys, I recently blogged about the house rule that we are yet still going to try with my fellow players. I tried to address the 'fire and forget' part of a martial encounter power. Here's the link: Dee Em’s 4e House Rules (heavily inspired by 13th Age) Ways of The Dee Em p.s. Please don't...

Why the Encounter Powers hate? (Maneuvers = Encounter)

I did not intend for my phrase in a negative connotation, but just forget that phrase. Anyhow, I'm not trying to attack people here. I just got the words wrong. hehe. Back to the discussion, I do agree with your points and your well-thought discussion. It's just that the reason I gave those...

Why the Encounter Powers hate? (Maneuvers = Encounter)

Unlike other players, I've actually understood the concept of AEDU from the start. The logic behind it when it was released. Why some fighting techniques can be pulled off only once per fight, or once per day. It all boils down to the 'meta' energy inside a character's body since it taxes them...

Why the Encounter Powers hate? (Maneuvers = Encounter)

Pretty much your also correct there and I also agree. I'm only explaining this as a default assumption since most enemies are 'normal' creatures in the sense that they are not disabled, aka blind, deaf, etc. about the reinforcements goblin, as a DM, I always houserule and give them another...
