What are somethings that could cause 4th Edition totally unappealing to gamers? What if, 4th Edition D&D was complete flop, and why?
1. After releasing the Player's Handbook in May of 2008, WotC announces that the WORLD'S LARGEST PLAYER'S HANDBOOK will be released in September 2008, which has 1200 pages and costs $300. Only rules from this handbook are considered "official content," making the paltry 200 page PHB obsolete.
2. 4e is backwards compatible with only the Original 1974 Boxed Set and not any other edition since then.
3. The new D&D miniatures and dice come un-painted, but they also come with assorted crayons so you can "customize" them.
4. Humans can only advance to 12th level in any class. This reflects their short lifespan.
5. Elves and dwarves start off at 12th level in any class. This reflect their long lifespan.
6. Gnomes and Halflings start of at 6th level. This reflects that they're just short.
7. After 4th Edition comes out in 2008, WotCs announces at GenCon that 4.5e will come out in May of 2009...
