Ok hes playing a 2nd level amnesiac dwarven wizard (Evoker) with a toad familier (named Shrek) and his NPC Companion is a 1st level Cleric of the death goddess Shadra.

They are outside the small villiage of Darkenshire (pop 750) in the small providence of Darkenshire about a month away from the capitol Rydonia. The world is covered in patches of mist. They are near the Darkenshire Woods (has a swamp and a ranger who is a werebear), Lovers Lookout (haunted by Ghosts), Three Church ruins, a river that leads to a waterfall, a sewer system underneath the villiage, and about 3 days travel to Arrington, a larger city.

I am planning the 12 episodes for this season. What do you think? Feel free to jump in and help

Thats all i got. Any ideas? The main thing i need to figure out is the origin of this tattoo (Should i make it arcane or psionic?) and the cause of his amnesea but I dont want him to discover the full truth of his amnesia yet.

He is a Wild Mage, Dwarf, and seeks the wild mage no one has heard from Mirander Moachae de Koffee Baen (one of his goals).

That's pretty wide open there. The real problem is limiting the events. Part of it is up to the player; what do they want to do? Are they motivated somehow (alignment, profit, etc.) to help solve the mystery of the murdered children? Are there any rumors of dungeons/treasure they may want to investigate? Are they only interested in solving the riddle of their past? You need to decide what you want to DM and provide the appropriate hook. Otherwise, you'll need to have as much prepared as possible, then just let the PC go where they will.

He said its all up to me. he likes RP with a bit of action but hates dungeoncrawls (as do i).

I want him to stay around in Darkenshire for a while and then he can leave after about 12 games (sooner if he wishes).

Episode 2: The mutilated children begin displaying strange behavior, including symptoms of amnesia and occasional fits where they speak in a strange tongue. A village elder remembers being visited by a ghost at Lover's Lookout who spoke in the same strange language.

that works i suppose. But what could be mutilating the children? Hrm. This is getting rusty for me ...

This is just off the top of my head, so it's only a rough idea, but...

Maybe a mad-scientist/mind-flayer trying to resurrect a dead mind-flayer god. By mutilating the children (and possibly the PC sometime in his past, he has amnesia too, remember), he hopes to create enough worshippers of the dead god to bring it back from wherever dead gods go. The children are speaking prayers to the dead god in the tongue of the mind-flayers. The ghost at Lover's Lookout is that of a slave who escaped from the mindflayers and thereby spoke their language. He can translate what the children are saying, but may have no knowledge of who they are praying to, which would require more investigation by the PC.

If you don't like mind-flayers, swap out with some other creepy alien race, like kuo-toa.

To keep the PC tied to Darkenshire, make the thing that is hurting the children tied directly to the PC. Maybe the whole season details the PC's eventual relevation that he is a lycanthrope or something.

If you don't like that last idea, I recommend having some kind of secret in town revolve around the child mutilations. Maybe some kind of pact struck with a demon for more bountiful crops. Or an old curse because of something horrid that the townspeople did so long ago.

The end result is that the townspeople either don't, or can't, do anything about the problem.

Well there are three hags that live in the swamp who have some cockatrices as their pets.

The children are not dead. Just coming back with no memories and a little sliced up
