10,000 B.c.

Not too bad if you just sat down to watch a prehistoric fantasy, though it was a little timid as others have noted and dragging in the middle. Needed more action to keep the center going.

Of course what I'd really like to see is a modern sort of campy 10 Million BC type retro caveman movie. Where there's no spoken lines just grunting and the soundtrack were blunt objects being arythmically banged together.

I just had a idea, deranged mixture of pre-Kull Howard prehistory and 10mil BC. Like Conan with a pointy stick fighting primordial monstrosities and dinosaurs being ridden by Civilized Serpentmen who are at war with Deep Ones who arise from the depths on enormous riding amphibians and fight each other across the primitive humans' hunting grounds.

Just got to see this for the first time. It had a lot of shortcomings (just too many characters to follow, etc.), but it sure did have a lot of D&D potential. And excellent cinematography. The ships, the mammoths - really fun to watch.

The grand temple at the end looked like the Belterra casino here in Cincinnati :)
