10 most important things to ask a potential gamer

Our home group periodically puts out announcements at the game stores to recruit new gamers. We've always pre-screened people with a short online questionaire to help us get the basic stuff out of the way, but I don't know if we have it perfected yet. I'm looking for tips and ideas about what you all have done in the past and what yo uthink would work.

We always send out the house rules and a questionaire. I'm going to add some comments about our group etiquette and dynamics too (although i don't know how much to put in there). Usually we find out age, availability (friday nights 6-11pm), if they can actually get to the game (car), etc. Then we also ask about their past gaming experiences, past 2 favorite characters, what they feel they would bring to the group, if they have any aversions to 'vile roleplaying'

What other questions should I ask?

- Do you bathe regularly?

- Have you ever had a character with a mercurial weapon in D&D, or a black trench coat and katana in vampire? If so, can you tell me anything else about the character?

- Assume there's a female gamer at the table. What is the appropriate course of action?
a - Have my character flirt with hers relentlessly, in a pathetic attempt to make her like me.
b - Ignore whatever she says. Girls never have any good ideas.
c - Treat her like any other gamer.

- What is the capital of Assyria?

:P

food allergies?

anon, fuftenance, ye- stupid or required?

have you ever cried at a game? was it NOT from laughing so hard?

Can you show up regularly?

Chinese or Italian?

Do you have a sense of humor?

Why do most of the exotic weapons in Bastion Press's Arms and Armor book look like bat'leths as made by a decorator of Italian wedding cakes?:D

If you know the rules better than I do, why aren't you running a game?

Which is a greater waste of a gaming session: one without any combat, or one used entirely for combat?

Would you be more uncomfortable at the prospect of playing in a group in which the DM had forbidden gender-bending or in which (without knowing anything more about the characters) more than have of the characters were bent?

Should evil PCs be allowed?

--I don't necessarily think there is a right answer to any of the above, but they do give some insight into compatibility.

Well once I collected questions on this thread: http://enworld.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41813

Most of the questions I made my survey nº01 came from there, if not every. I am using it with my players because most of them I have never Dmed to.

Here is the archive I made, credits are given at the end, including you, note that i have named it Survey nº 01: What Kind of Player are You?

I am also finishing a survey that is gonna guide/help the character development by asking things you should give at least some attention, it needs many corrections but as soon as I get it ready I can post it for you.

African or European? :D

I think there is only one question that needs to be asked:
Pants or no pants?
Who wants to start playing with some new gamer when they take off their pants at the gaming table! This is especially worse if said gamer loves gaming commando style. :D
