101 (And More) Tasks For A Wandering Priest

Kaodi

Legend
So my latest idea for a campaign I would like to play in as a wandering priest on a mission to heal ills, cleanse evil, and generally convert village folk to his religion in a none too aggressive way. This is the sort of game that would probably work best for one player, since it is focused on a task that most characters would not be interested in unless they all shared the same faith, and because it would nice not to be upstaged; the latest in my ideas while suffering from game withdrawal.

Anyway, while it may be not be one of the most popular aspects of D&D and other roleplaying games in general, there is a strong tradition of holy servants and warriors in adventuring parties, so I figured it might to worthwhile to start a list of ideas for plot looks or small tasks that a wandering/adventuring priestly type might be asked to perform.

1. Reconsecrate a village graveyard to comfort villagers fears that something unsavoury might be going on there.
2. Adjudicate a contentious divorce between the elder and his or her spouse.
3. Persuade a prodigal son to return to his home.
4. Explore an ancient mausoleum that is suspected to be haunted.
5. Deal with a young woman who has lost her grip on reality.
6. Say the last rites for someone who is to be executed.
7. Outsmart a local priest of a rival religion.
8. Settle down and become the local priest.
