10ECL character for hack'n'slash module

Changeling Monk-6 Warshaper-4
Feats:
Dodge,Stunning Fist,Combat Reflexes,Combat Expertise, Karmic Strike,Improved Trip,Defensive Throw

The feat chain lets you make attacks of opportunity against an opponent whether it misses you or hits you every time it attacks, at your full BAB.

Changelings are shapechanger subtype so qualify for Warshaper.Wich at that level will give you a constant +4 Str and +4 Con, immunity to stunning and criticals, up your unarmed damage a size catagory, 5' reach with all your attacks, and fast healing 2.

This is a similar build to one of my NPC's, I allow monks to take Vow of Poverty for free at first level in my campain wich helps out alot as well. But with your 20K you can afford a monks belt, bracers AC+1,and +2 Dex gloves.

unfortunately i don't have Races of Dragon yet, so i don't know what's dragonborn, spell versatility feat and wings of cover.
Dragonborn is sort of a +0 LA template that replaces most of your racial traits. I mainly picked it for the +2 Con you get. The Spell Versatility feat lets you cast a spell with two spell slots of one level lower. Wings of cover lets you give yourself total cover as an immediate action. They are all replaceable. (Though without wings of cover dispel defense is more important.)

i failed to find any of those spells you mentioned in my SC though. maybe they were published in some later supplements? flight of dragon is a 5th level spell from D. and draconic polymorph must be draconic might?
By SC I mean Spell Compendium, and they're all there. Flight of the dragon was changed to 4th level in SC, and its duration reduced to 10 min/level. (What did you mean by SC? :))

Draconic polymorph
is in Draconomicon under the "dragon spells" (but it's not restricted to dragons.)

fankthedm, nightfall, in this case say goliaph or half-orc barbarian would be twice as good as minotaur.. imho gore attack, strength boost and large size can't be worth 8 character levels.

But you have to realize that 6 levels of Monstrous Humanoid isn't all that bad. I have a high level minotaur barbarian/fighter who literally cleaves his way through just about everything in his path, and has excellent staying power.

I would have the following stats.

Str- 12 (cost 4)
Dex-16 (cost 8 plus 1 for lvl 4)
Con- 12 (cost 4)
Int- 14 (cost 6)
Wis- 16 (cost 8 plus 1 for lvl 8)
Cha- 8

Don't forget almost all the time the character would be in alternat form so would have Str 16 and Con 16.

Str- 17 (bump up to 18 at level 4)
Dex-13
Con- 15 (bump up to 16 at level 8)
Int- 10
Wis- 10
Cha- 8

Human Barbarian 1/Fighter 9

Feats: Extra Rage, Reckless Rage, Improved Toughness, Power Attack, Weapon Focus: Greatsword, Weapon Specialization: Greatsword, Improved Bull Rush, Shock Trooper, Mounted Combat, Ride-by Attack

Skill ranks: Handle Animal 5, Jump 5, Listen 8, Ride 13, Tumble 6

Equipment: +1 animated heavy steel shield (9,160), Figurine of Wondrous Power (Ebony Fly) (10,000), masterwork cold iron greatsword, normal greatsword, lance, Oil of Bless Weapon, Potion of Invisibility.

Get the rest of your equipment later as you gain cash.

If you're outdoors, mount up on your Ebony Fly and do Ride-by Attack with your lance (for double damge). Use the Shock Trooper feat, Heedless Charge tactic to modify you Power Attack, moving the penalty from your attack roll to your AC. Your mouned lance charge will be at +19 attack, 2d8 + 60 damage.

Use your greatsword for close-up work, with +19 attack, 2d6 + 12 damage, modified by 2x Power Attack. Lean on your party's cleric or wizard for Greater Magic Weapon spells to buff up your sword and Magic Vestment spells to buff up your shield and armor (which you don't really need, but you'll feel more comfortable, I'd guess).

When you get some more cash, buy an Amulet of Health, upgrading it as you get more cash. Save some up for a Belt of Giant Strength +4. (Don't bother with Gauntlets of Ogre Power; you'll just end up leaving them behind or selling them for half price as you buy the Belt.)

You'll hack. You'll slash. You'll inflict incredible amounts of damage -- even more when you pick up Spirited Charge next level. You'll have a ton of hit points (about 136), but because of the Ride-by Attack, creatures will rarely get a chance to hit you. When they kill your Ebony Fly, grab the statuette with your knees, put it away, then charge on foot.

I'd take this guy against a flind or minotaur any day.
