Buy yourself a Cloak of Resistance +1 to wear on top of your Cloak of Charisma.

The second cloak won't work -- per the DMG rules for slotted magic items. But if you blow your Reflex save vs. area damage spell on a natural 1, that 1,000 gp cloak will blow up instead of your expensive Cloak of Cha.

This only works with a magical cloak, and the 1,000 gp Cloak of Res +1 is the cheapest.

Wow...can you get anymore meta-gamey than that!? I really doubt any character would walk around with two cloaks on...that's just stupid.

18 Dex base (and only 14 Cha).

Don't ask. It is a screwed up build thanks to a stupid DM who likes making suggestions without knowing all the rules and refuses to take responsibility for his own idiocy.

Well, Scorching Ray is your friend, most definitely with those stats. Ranged touch attack and no save. :D

A lesser metamagic rod of empower will be good for those.

Did you consider multiclassing? With a 14 Cha, you are not exactly well-suited for pure Sorcerer, but a Fighter/Sorcerer/Eldritch Knight might work rather well (you could use a bow, or a rapier with Weapon Finesse and use spells for buffs and utility mostly).

I've found that once you get into high level with sorcerers and wizards theres not much point in trying to boost your AC. Anything that high can hit you as often as it likes. Its better avoiding getting hit.

So my suggestions are
A ring of invisibity or ring of blinking
Ring +2 protection.
Boots of levitation
Amulet of health
And ioun stones are a good buy, with whatever money you have left.

Thanee - My DM suggested Flaming Sphere. So I took it. He hasn't allowed me to change since (not high enough level yet). Bloody waste of time that thing. He had fun with them in ONE adventure and thinks they are the bomb. I was going to use Scorching Ray myself. I am 3 levels away from ever able to change it.

Anyway, I was going for EldKn. That was his "suggestion". I was originally going for Dragon Disciple, hence the stat distribution (and initial feat selection of Blindfight, TWF, TWD, WF (SSword), WFin). He stopped that after 1 session and refused to allow me to change stats or feats even though I made it clear right from the start that was where I was headed. It is not his fault.

Now, after his brilliant suggestion of EldKn, he realises that the text doesn't say that EldKn gets spells KNOWN when they level. So, he is saying no to that too. Opps, so sorry, too bad.

Umm, your DM has read the PHB and DMG, right?

When we are playing, sure. It took 2 HOURS for us to nail a pair of T-Rexes because he put a Cleric NPC with us and didn't know what half the spells did. He spent SO much time looking through the spell descs I felt like kicking him in the nuts. He also doesn't plan his next moves while the party is taking their turns. He umms and ahhs before moving for EVERY bad guy and NPC.

DMs that don't do their homework really pisses me off.

If only he didn't have to know all the rules and could run a fair game off-the-cuff. ;)

This sounds like a primo-A wonderful game.

Just off the top of my head: put up a notice looking for another group of gamers/another GM.

I don't think you can go wrong, no matter who turns up.

I take that back. But the probability is low.

As far as serious advice, I have to second what two said.
