10th through 21st tier spells, please help

Well, heres the story. I have a good friend who's making a 40th level wizard for his FR campaign, who managed to avoid the effects of the weave being restricted to 9th tier spells. Unfortunatly, only a handful of epic spells exist, and as far as I can tell, none that are classified as 10th through 21st tier. You guys want to help make some up? Post here, please :)

I do. its called invade mind.
its a 17 level spell and can transfer your own mind with a creature with 27 HD or lower (the creature can be any age and alignment) and class's, alignment, abilities: such as int, wis and cha, and everything else is over to the target creature, and their mind just somewhat doesnt exist. this is not workable on gods btw. best creature ive done is a evil dragon in my opinion, it is now your body with your mind inside of is. you get all the dragons abilities with spell caster stacks with yours. and you get to be really big and powerful when you start with a young dragon

best ragards and hope it works for you :)

Yeah, the only way you're going to get 10th+ level spells, short of creating your own, is to convert the DC-based spells. Anabster's method is fairly accurate. I'd go through the epic spells in the SRD very carefully, though - there are still a lot of mistakes in them.

Also, what kind of progression are you using for gaining those new spell slots?

I'm not a fan of the epic spells, I think they're mostly just a bunch of hot air. Half the time, a series of regular spells could do the trick of an epic spell and cost the caster a lot less grief.

That said, I also have always thought that spells above 9th level are no big deal. Consider that there are damage cap and dice cap rules in the DMG, and that the expansion is linear, and just follow the curve upward.

Also, consider that there are two levels between Limited Wish and Wish, and this tells you that if you just take the difference in power between the two, and add that to the Wish's power, you can have an 11th level spell (call it what you will--Greater Wish, perhaps), that has the power of a Wish + a Limited Wish.

I agree that having a slow progression of slots beyond 9th level slots is acceptable. After all, unless a whole campaign is going to be based around thousands of epic-level people running around, there's just no need for that amount of power.

Epic spells are only good at Reeally epic levels, like 40+ when the rules start to break down even more. Before that you are almost always better stacking on metamagic feats to existing spells. Empowered Maximized Energy Admixtured Meteor Swarm? 18th level spell. Does something around 300+25d6 damage with no save doing 2 element types.

My favorite is a Maximized Energy Drain as a 12th level spell. Touch attack to lose 8 levels. Can you maximize a Dispel Magic? I know you cant empower it but I never considered maximizing it.

K, I'll give him this...if you guys can help come up with new spell names and functions for these, it'd be great. The character is a 40th level wizard, and although frankly I have no clue WHY my friend needs these spells, he says he does, so I'm going along. :)

Not true 11th level greater wish would have the following power

GWP = (WP)*(WP)/(LMWP)

Have a look around the web for the 2E Netbook of spells. I've searched for my copy, but it seems like I've deleted it. It had spells up to level 15 (IIRC). Perhaps you can convert some of them...

If you can get hold of a copy (RPGnow may be able to help here), the old 2e Forgotten Realms Netheril accessory had a few 10th & 11th level spells, and one 12th, although I wouldn't want to allow Karsus's Avatar into a game...
