This is why I miss Dungeon Magazine. Even the 4e book that had a small dungeon in it for each level of the PCs. I think I ran maybe 1/2 of them and some a few times.
Overall I think it comes down to cost and competition with other books. They make the Adventure League stuff which is shorter, but ties in with the current AL adventure. Hopefully you buy both the $4.00 AL modules and print them yourself and the $50.00 main book. To come out with a 32 page softcover like in the old days competes with this. I'm not sure why I have not seen that much 3pp doing it. I see some print on demand and stuff, but like most things I would like to flip through it before I drop my money.
I'm also not sure on how much you need to modify the shorter adventures to fit you game. If I grab the big book for levels 1-15 I can play it written ,but if I get a fill in module I may need to change a lot of the adventure to fit location or monsters I need. Does taking that time justify not just getting the big book. I guess it depends on who has time and ability to do that.

Isn't this what DMs Guild is producing in bucket loads? (And Adventurer's League too...) - Varying quality of course, but there are ratings at least. And there are some very skilled folks producing lots of good stuff.
Edit: I see that the OP dismissed DMs Guild and yet it is precisely because of this (and other 3rd party licensing) that they're not producing small adventures.

From what I can tell, older edition playstyles were better suited to just publishing "here's a random 10-page dungeon. Have someone show up at the local tavern, send your murderhobos here, and let them kill everything and take the loot and go home."
Current style of play looks for a narrative arc tying multiple small scenarios together. Which means you need about 100 pages to get a publish-able module out, and then you pad the rest of the way with lore, character options, and fluff.

Thanks, looks like just what Im looking for. Something I can prep within 30 minutes and for $1.99 seems like a good deal.

Yeah, I'm just beginning to explore Kobold Press' Warlock Lairs. I picked up #16 Lamassu's Secrets and it's a nice little 7th level adventure, 8 pages long, maybe one 4 hour session's worth. Be aware that it references many monsters in Tome of Beasts, so it looks like ToB is necessary to run the Warlock Lairs adventures.
I'll also second that – there are some really cool articles and adventures in EN5ider. I've made good use of Battlefield Encounters by @Morrus and Anatomy of a Wizard's Tower by Jeff Gomez in my home games.
