Way of the Dragon

Dragonborn have taken to believing that through the perfection of ones self they can tap into their Ki to bring out the powers of their dragon blood more fully

3rd
Dragon’s Breath (Ki 1)
You may channel your Ki to recharge your breath weapon as an action

6th
Draconic Resilience (Ki 2)
At 6th Level you gain the ability to channel your Ki to resist most anything. Activating this ability allows roll any saving throw with Advantage (Or negate Disadvantage)

11th
Dragons Fury
When using your breath weapon you may spend up to 5 Ki points to increase the power of your breath weapon attack by 1d6 per Ki point for this round.

14th
Dragon Wings (Ki 1)
At 14th level, you gain the ability to sprout a pair of dragon wings from your back, gaining a flying speed equal to your current speed. You can create these wings as a bonus action on your turn. They last until you dismiss them as a bonus action on your turn. You can’t manifest your wings while wearing armor unless the arm or clothing not made to accommodate your wings might be destroyed when you manifest them.

17th
Draconic Presence (Ki 5)
Beginning at 18th level, you can channel the dread presence of your dragon ancestor, causing those around you to becom e awestruck or frightened. As an action, You draw on this power and exude an aura of awe or fear (your choice) to a distance of 60 feet. For 1 minute or until you lose your concentration (as if you were casting a concentration spell), each hostile creature that starts its turn in this aura must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be charmed (if you chose awe) or frightened (if you chose fear) until the aura ends. A creature that succeeds on this saving throw is immune to your aura for 24 hours.

I'd probably drop the action requirement. Otherwise, it's unlikely you'll ever be doing this in combat, and I'd think this monk ought to be breathing whenever he wants. And I'd probably make it so you spend the ki and breathe immediately, rather than recharging.

I agree with Satyrn, drop the action requirement. Maybe just "As an action on your turn, you may spend 1 Ki to activate your breath weapon."

1 Ki instead of 2 for the level 6 ability. It's good, but not overpowered.

Also, it seems weird to be able to grow and lose dragon wings, especially in the short amount of time that is a bonus action. I would either make them a permanent addition, or make it a longer time frame, probably more like a short or long rest.

What about it being spend 1 ki as a bonus action to recharge.

Question: Can a monk spend more than 1 ki per round?

That could be a happy medium.

Monks can spend multiple ki in a round but they go pretty quick if you aren't careful.

I wasn't thinking physical wings I was thinking spiritual but yeah I can see where that should maybe be a permanent thing Off at least a longer process. Probably permanent.

Some thoughts:
Way of the Dragon...

6th
Draconic Resilience (Ki 2)
At 6th Level you gain the ability to channel your Ki to resist most anything. Activating this ability as a Reaction allows you to roll any saving throw with Advantage (Or negate Disadvantage). You can only use this ability once per Reaction.
I'd make note that this should be as Reaction. The latter part is added to note that you cannot move from Disadvantage to Normal then to Advantage. You can only move it one step. I guess if you want to let players burn 4ki to turn Disdvantage into Advantage on any saving throw, but I think that might be better for a "second stage" of this power. Maybe adding a note "At 16th level, you can use this power to move a saving throw two steps from Disadvantage to Advantage." That keeps the cost the same, but adds the power bump at a higher level. It's not necessary, but it's a thought.

11th
Dragons Fury
When using your breath weapon you may spend up to 5 Ki points to increase the power of your breath weapon attack by 1d6 per Ki point for this round.
I would make this scaling. IE: at 11th level you can add up to +5, at 20th level you can spend +X or something along those lines.

This is a minor nit...but why does this cost Ki? As soon as someone hits 14th level, they can spend 1 Ki on day one and then never have to spend it again. If there is a Ki cost there should be a duration. If there is no duration there should be no Ki cost.
