1st Edition Bard as PRC?

Has anyone done a conversion of the old 1st edition bard class from the back of the DMG? just curious as this was the first ever prestige class and in my opinion the best bard they ever did.

Easy. Just take the Prestige Bard from Unearthed Arcana, and change the spellcasting requirement from arcane spells to druidic spells.

Yes, 1st edition was wierd, wasn't it?

Anyhow, in d20, a prestige class that has "+1 level of previous spellcasting class" for its spell ability probably means you should have a previous spellcasting class before taking the class.

Don't give it +1 to spellcasting ability, give it its own spelllist and spless per level.

Req: BAB +8
Traps
Disable Device 8 ranks
Search 8 ranks
Move Silently 8 ranks


BAB: As druid
Saves: As Druid
Spellcasting: Upon entering the bard prestige class, the bard begins casting
spells as a first level druid, and advances his spellcasting as a
druid each level.

Bardic abilities gained as bard.


This gets you into the class as a 5th level fighter/5th level rogue. Reduce the requirements if you want him to get in earlier.
