I nominate Paradigm Concepts, Inc.
PCI continually shows amazing support for their fan base. While putting out over a hundred adventures since the inception of Arcanis: the World of Shattered Empires they have maintained exceptional customer relations. They campaign staff regularly monitors and contributes to discussions on their Yahoo group LA Talk.
PCI has gone above and beyond the call of duty to support play in the Arcanis univerese. When the RPGA pulled their support for Origins this year, PCI stepped up and developed The Gathering rpg track for the Living campaigns that are the RPGAs bread and butter now. When the RPGA pulled thier support of Living Arcanis for GenCon this year, again, PCI stepped up to the plate and created their Iron Judge program for this year, where they will sponsor individual judges, providing badges and rooms for judging 8 slots of LA.
Paradigms support of the major conventions is without peer in the table top rpgs arena. For the past few years Living Arcanis events have been the biggest single events at Origins, as well as emptying out the RPGA hall at GenCon during Battle Intereactves. This summer at Origins there will be three Hard Points (major story arc stuff), three Introduction events for LA novices and starting new PCs, a premier Soft Point exploring Censure: the City of Thieves (a soon to be released source book by Arcanis guru Scott Charlton), a LARP "In King Osric's Court" and another of the now infamous Battle Interactives (130 gamers fighting one battle simultaneously, sometimes on oppsing sides). GenCon will priemere two new Soft Points exploring Seramas, an ellorii (these are not your Tolkien elves) as well as another BI.
Their products are excellent. The text density, mechanical development and story exploration are tops (editing has its issues like all rpgs it seems). PCI has been able to tap the undiscovered talent of writers like Scott Charlton, who has written more of Arcanis than any other single author involved with PCI, and Duane M Choquette, a herpatoligist by training, who wrote and developed Ssethregore: In the Coils of the Serpent Empire (a fantastic addition to any home campaign).
PCI has also opend up Arcanis to development by their fans with the Invisible Kings program, which allows a small group of fans to organize and develop a specific city or organization, offering at least four adventures a year. The announcement of the Invisible King winners will be at a PCI seminar, this Friday at 7PM at Origins. This is a very exciting time to be involved with the Living Arcanis campaign. I know the player base agrees.
Respectfully,
Edward J Kopp: Arcaniac at Large
