[2006] Renting a floor at the Embassy Suites

Embassy Suites Question regarding reserving a floor.

How many people can fit into a room? If you can get 4, that's only $50/night, which is very reasonable.

And if it has a happy hour, it is the bestest hotel ever!

The suites with one bed also have a sleeper sofa in the living room, so you could sleep 4 if they don't mind sharing a bed. The suites with two beds could sleep six, but the beds are not kingsize, so you might not want that option unless you are willing to be up close and personal with your bedmate.

Typically, the rates for more people are higher, but not all that much. For 4 people you would probably end up spending more like $70 per night.

Another option who those who don't mind going off site

Nestle Inn

It is 1 mile from the convention center.

Map

5 bedrooms (each with a private bath)

Common areas include a parlor, library, lobby and a second floor seating area, snack bar, microwave and refrigerator for guest use.

and apparently they have a deal where you can rent the whole place for 500 per day (plus $75 tax), Which works out to 115 dollars for each bedroom per day.

Although I have not seen any mention of parking :\
I know the area. It's a pretty safe area, near the Mass Avenue theatre district. Parking is on the street, which may make it a bit challenging during the weekend theatre/bar time.

After taxes and parking, I think I paid about that. However, at the Embassy you get a suite, a free, lavish breakfast and happy hour included in the price. Plus you have a balcony to fall off of if you get drunk enough. Who could ask for anything more?

hmmm, I may very well be looking for a roommate at those prices, I can afford it but YOW, it looks like all that mandatory OT at work is going to be put to use ...

looking for a room mate thread to come, ... reveal did you want a room mate?

I would love to share a room to split the costs. :)

Yes, but he wants one that will hold his buttocks. :p

Embassy Suites sounds good except for the whole vertigo thing. I could deal with it, but it was a major problem for my friend Tonya. Anyplace else (like the hyatt or Westin) offer suites?

If there are suites in some of the other hotels (like the westin) they'd be a great deal more expensive than the ones at the embassy.

Nonetheless, the Queen and I are likely to continue our trend of staying in one of the connected hotels - we're either going to go back to the Westin in 2006 or try the Mariott. The couple of blocks of walking to the Embassy to reach the Canadiana suite was far from problematic from our perspective(s).

Thats not too bad. And its been confirmed. I'll start my second year of college in the Autumn so that going to GenCon won't be a problem. And, to top it off, you may have an opportunity of meeting my mother. After hearing how much of a good time I had, she has expressed interest in checking it out!
